Anik: "We hope Chris Weidman will be back in the Octogon..."

Speak for yourself there, Jon. Weidman should retire for his own sake.
Yeah I was worried about another leg break. It's just not there Chris. Just say you came back and that's it. You gave it a good try.

Im not going to be harsh on Tavares. Brad could have clearly broken Chris' leg but he clearly did not want to go down that path. UFC needs to retire Weidman though.

When Tavarez wobbled him the first time, it looked to me like he wasn't cold enough to rip up the crippled southpaw front leg so hesitated.

Chris if you are reading this, that loss was only a bump in the road. Come back and fight again until you just bleed out!

Would you believe Brad Tavares is a top 20 MW in the entire world if the ufc didn’t show you? Rankings are wild. Tavares would lose to no namers in one/bellator/pfl

Come on now. Mousasi is Bellator's #2 MW and he absolutely sucks nowadays.

Bellator has some decent champions, a few interesting contenders here and there, and then nobodies throughout the rest of the roster.

That was such a hard fight to watch. You could tell Chris, despite his toughness, just wasn't feeling confident at all. I really don't want to see him fight again, and just making it back in there was really the only victory he needed. Please hang 'em up Chris.
He's shot physically and mentally.

Probably just rust. Chris needs a quick turnaround if he's gonna make a run at the belt. He's still his Dad's boy

185: Brad Tavares (19-8) gets the UD over Chris Weidman (15-6). Leg kicks and shutout takedown defense gets the job done for the Hawaiian veteran. Major props to Chris for coming back from a crushing leg injury and taking it the distance.

See you all in the main card thread.

Weidman looked washed

Not sure how to rate Marlon Vera. Cruz was running rings around him until he got caught.

I'm happy nothing terrible happened to Teh Chris he showed grit and toughness there might be a few low level guys at MW he could grind out but he should be retired already.

Time to move over to the Mian card PBP!
