He was out struck 36 -25 in the 3rd round and from my eyes the leg kicks and the head shots were significantly more damaging.

I think a dog like Jiri beats him

jiri would get on top and hellbow him to a ko or stoppage. Jan doesn’t have the killer instinct that Jiri does. And poatan isn’t well rounded enough to match up with Jiri.

Again, he survived deep sub attempts and was able to stuff a few and get back up. His counter grappling isn’t THAT bad. Yan has tapped many men in the past. Alex did pretty damn good. Outside of round 1, Jan didn’t do as much damage as Alex did.

I think it was a fair decision under the current judging criteria.

No he didn’t do bad at all. A lot of time wasted not improving his position though in the first round.

Exactly this. It's a far cry from 2008 when a TD would automatically mean taking the round by most judges. Judging it still shit, but they got it right here.

Yan landed some good shots in the 3rd, but Alex landed better/harder and more often. I'll have to see it again, and the shot's landed, but that's how it looked to me.

Yan lying in his guard doing nothing for 30 seconds did nothing for anyone, especially himself.

i saw alex landing much more in the stand up on an obviously gassed Jan. Had Jan hurt with a punch too, had him backing up. The only thing Jan did was the takedown, but no damage, which is the ruleset, damage over position.
