UFC 252: Miocic vs. Cormier 3 Discussion

The Dodson line is right IMO.
Don't know why so many sherbros are high on him, especially considering all those better underdogs being on that card (JDS, Yoder, Vera etc.)
I'm thinking about putting 4u on Merab

That's also a shitty strategy IMO and will very likely cost you more than you'll win in the long run. But everyone is free to do as they like.
I actually have a +30% ROI when betting on fighters between 1.4 and 1.6.
My best odd range actually, by far.

Stipe is lean af. Gonna weigh in at 225 if you ask me. This is undeniably gonna help his cardio, but I'm concerned about him getting outweighed and thus outwrestled in the early rounds

I mean he weighed 230 in the last fight...

Oh I had already forgotten that.
He might weigh in as a LHW then <5>
Lol. But yeah I see what you're saying, but I think most people expect DC to win the first round or two and then Miocic to push the pace in the third onward. I just cant imagine DC'S cardio being any better with how fat he looked before camp started and without a typical training camp. You at least know with Stipe that he'll be able to go the full 5 rounds fairly easily

As long as he doesn't get knocked out in the first two rounds, Stipe wins this 90% of the time.
Cormier hasn't the cardio to lay and pray or wall and stall Stipe for 5 rounds.
If Stipe makes it out of the first 2 (3 at best) Cormier is fucked.

Yep. If DC doesnt do much damage in the first round I'm live betting the fuck out of Miocic

So, what's the deal?

Are we all going to pitch-in and bring @lefontes and @Danis_champ to a meeting spot in America and have them settle this, or what? Free trip + $500 for the winner or something? I'm sure we can scrounge that much up over the course of a few months with all of us combined. It will bring tons of entertainment to this forum.

Depending where it's held, I can commentate the fight in person.

I pledge $100

This is supposed to be a small forum with mutual help, not some internet shithole where people threaten each other...
Besides, actual fights between keyboard warriors never ever happen IRL, therefore calling someone out on the Internet is the dumbest move you can make.

But it's still funny and I would bet on it if the fight were to happen <28>

I bet on JDS / Rozen going over 1.5 at +100. Rozen has an iron chin and JDS is durable himself and with both coming off brutal KO's I can see them having a tentative feel out 1st round.

I'm thinking about putting 4u on Merab

Couple things here...

It's stylistically not a great matchup for Merab. His striking is not good, he's a TD machine with a nonstop motor. But Dodson is almost impossible to hold down, and cardio shouldn't be an issue in a 3 round fight. Plus Dodson has power so if Merab's striking defense is as bad as it's been at various times, he might eat a big shot and get finished.

The other (and probably more important) thing is...if you think the line is "right", why would you ever consider a 4u play??? If the line is right, take a pass. Or put a tiny bet on a prop or something if you just want action. Making a big play on a line where you think the books have it correct? There's no reason to do that, put your money in spots where you think the line is way off.

I am on JDS ML
Full underdog card this time with Yoder, Miocic, JDS and even a small play on Vera

I'm on Yoder (just following a sadistic pick) and Miocic as well, JDS has a clear path to victory but I just don't see him trying to grapple which would make this a sure bet for me.

I wanted to say the that the line is right "at least" actually.
My bad.
I actually retaped Merab and it's true he sometimes struggles to keep his opponent on the ground (Simon fight).
What you said about Dodson's getup game is true too. Moreover his hands are super fast.
But I still think Merab is gonna land pointless takedowns (no damage and Dodson will get up) but we all know judges like pointless takedowns.
He's gonna look good on the scorecards and I think a decision victory is likely to happen.
Dec line is -150ish and looks good to me.

I think he might win via striking only, I feel like Rozenstruik's striking is overrated, losing in the striking department to Overeem, backing up in a straight line against Ngannou...
But of course he still has power and Junior's chin is a bit of a concern...
