The MMA world has been scoring taps to strikes as TKOs for awhile. It used to be ruled as a submission.

This is the third time in recent memory that it's been ruled a TKO.

Edit: I'm not sure if all states and countries rule taps to strikes as TKOs.

Big Jon cleared it up on twitter I think after rose. For a tap to be a sub, a sub has to be locked in. Otherwise it's a tko
