Regarding Cowboy, the dude has been training for only a couple of years and imo clearly improves between fights. Hes also much more athletic than Means. Just something to keep in mind

No att back in brazil. Something to bear in mind re potential improvement. I wouldnt say he shows improvement anyhow. He just cage hugs smaller men every fight. Not much evolution to me.

I see you always saying he was down 2-0, but I vehemently disagree. Cowboy won at least one of those rounds, maybe both imo

Completely disagree. I can see an argument for r1 but he just held him against the fence beooks hit 2 td's. R2 brooks took him down mounted him and had his back. Far more than cowboy did

Rd 1 was close. I lean Brooks ever so slightly, but wouldn't argue with someone giving it to Cowboy.

Rd 2 was almost surely Brooks though.

Well, Cowboy caused the broken rib from proper clinch work to set up the clean knee. Weight advantage or not he was doing good there. A few fights before that, he had trouble grappling with Joe Merritt. Thats improvement for sure. Also think hes looked a lot more controlled and better fight IQ over time, especially since the fight with Donald. Too many reckless moments in all of his fights until that loss

Hmmm I probably need to rewatch since I bet on Brooks dec and could have panic scored the fight (luckily livebet out of that one) but I remember thinking Cowboy was up 2-0

Tried to find media scorecards but couldn't. I did see that Sherdog judges scores after 2 were 19-19, 20-18 Brooks, 20-18 Brooks. Which sounds about right from what I remember.

Yeah cowboy deserves credit for hurting and beating ill will which is a really tough fight for anyone. Honestly cowboy impressed me in that fight.

I cant back means here. He is a bit too passive. Otoh cowboy is very aggro. I am not confident but as a pick em i take cowboy. I also think means is in his own head a bit.

I do think means has the technical advantage but cowboy will try and likely succeed in making it a dogfight.

It was close but after 2 i thought cowboy was ahead.

I honestly think Nunes would be gassed to hell in Rd 2 after the pace of Holm/Rousey in Rd 1. I think she needs to put Rousey away in Rd 1 or she's done for.
Ronda was kinda gassed to hell after that pace aswell

lost so much respect for anik/florian podcast withe luca appearance this week. everything that dude says is a complete lie. he "spends every waking minute watching tape, learning which specific strikes fighters use and then analyzes how the opponent deals with each type" -- yet for some reason barely mentions any of that anytime you listen to his 'tout'. and he "was always good with numbers so he figured he'd try his hand at mma betting, and in the first event, he won MORE MONEY IN ONE EVENT THAN HE WOULD HAVE MADE IN A FULL YEAR AT HIS FULL TIME JOB"

...jesus christ.

"oh yea i'll move to LA maybe.. maybe february.. maybe march.. i'm just so busy" -- if i was moving from my lifetime home of minnesota for 25+ years or whatever ... if i was going to move to LA, i'd have a little more certainty about the possibility. i wouldn't be "trying to squeeze the move in in a couple months."

i know this isn't too relevant to ufc 207. but people bring luca and his picks up all the time. i just couldn't contain myself. i sincerely hope none of you pay this lying crook a dime.

Watched some tape from both Means and Olivera.

Means just comes forward, pressuring, trying to overwhelm you. He's doesn't keep his hands up high enough and is willing to take one to give one. I noticed Olivera has more pop to his strikes, especially his knees. I already have 4U on Means but am uneasy about it.

re: oliveira-means, it's quite simple, if you ask me. if you think means can stuff oliveira's takedowns, you bet him. if you think oliveira takes him down, you bet him.

olive has already proven that he will go that route against similar opponents. hell, he's taken down MOST people he's fought in the ufc. but look at the moontasri fight, for example. he never even considered stopping the wrestling attack. and means is more dangerous. so yea. oliveira is GOING to come out wrestling. the ONLY question we have to ask: will he be successful.

i haven't bet it yet. i'm leaning olive but uncertain.

hes a sumbag all he does is talk about how he never loses "another event and another sweep" the funny thing is hes like yea my free bets are like 71-10 I know that sounds ridiculous but everything is "third party tracked" lol

Luca is a joke and a liar but he seems to have ins with a lot of "big" names. I remember i tweeted once to Luke Thomas about betting and he just said nah i leave that to Luca Fury.

I think the mma community is small so people try and support each other... i dunno.

But yeah anik and flo should not be hosting Luca....so stupid. People itt would be more credible.

Cowboy did nothing grappling wise until r3 when brooks had given up. In r1 he held him against the fence and all td's were stuffed whoope doe. R2 he got outgrappled. He did hit two i think it was td's but brooks was straight back up.

Sorry guys but it was 19 19 going into r3 at worst no way cowboy won r2.

He kept trying to put the hooks in and take merritt's back once grounded. Positionally hes sloppy. I think he just held on to brooks he didnt actually go for anything until r3 but r3 means nothing to me as brooks had quit. Merritt is also a genuine ww only the second one hes faced and he struggled. Merritt took it on short notice and gassed. If he didnt gas that could have been a real close fight. Merritt was cut and has since lost outside the ufc itd. Cowboy has struggled at WW thus far.

You know MMA betting is niche when a scumbag like Luca can become the most popular bettor. I seriously doubt Luke, Anik or Florian really know much about him at all

Yeah since Borg has flipped into the favorite that one is a lot less surprising. Just praying it gets back into +2xx at this point or I might just play Smolka ml. But Cowboy dec under +2xx.......thats just bullshit.
Both Borg and Cowboy dec +225 at bet365

I enjoy betting on MMA, but a lot of MMA betting enthusiasts are morons as well. We've noticed this a lot through the years on here. It's to the point that whoever claims they bet the most or are loud about their victories get the attention. Luca has marketed himself for that. A lot of the people with aspirations to become a "professional MMA gambler" are dumb enough to be conned by Luca and other touts.

I disagree that means is more passive. Cowboy has barely traded in the octagon he has opted to cage hug. How do we really know what cowboys output standing is/will be? Means averages nearrly 4.5 slpm thats high.

Why do you think hes in his head?

2 rounds imo and then things start to get pretty dicey for Nunes depending on pace. I can't see it going past 2 anyway, one way or the other.

Fair enough. She did look ok against Valentina in round 2 but at the same time horrible against Zingano and Davis after the first round.
