I think they are going to find Northcutt to be a bad investment. I understood their logic for signing him and paying him fairly big. He's young, good looking, and he was blitzing people. He really did look solid and very exciting in his pre UFC fights. Once he faces guys who can defend though, all bets are off. I don't think we'll see many second or third round finishes for Sage unless he improves a lot. Matchmaking is going to have to be good to him for him to succeed, but you don't want to stick him into a bunch of lower level fights either. He's just way overpaid right now.
Edit: And the funny thing is, they could have got him for much cheaper. I don't think the pay is even comparable to what he would have got elsewhere. People knock his dad a bunch, but if he negotiated that pay, he did outstanding.
