Its hard to assess Vitor's tdd. He went balls to the wall vs Weidman, nothing came of it, and then he got crushed. No shame, Weidman is one of the best td artists in the game. Before that, it was Jones. No shame, thats arguably THE best td artist in the game and it was short notice giving up a bunch of size. Before that? We're talking literally a decade since he faced anyone who really put it to the test and had the mindset of grounding Vitor.

It was so long ago, but Randy had some problems getting the tds before beating the shit out of Vitor in the clinch.

I'm not sold at all when it comes to Jacare's offensive wrestling. The only time it really looked sharp was vs Gegard in the small cage.

Personally, I wouldn't touch Jacare at his current price under any circumstance. Not even itd is enticing to me. If the other most visibly notable roid user (Reem) can still have as much success as he has, I won't count Vitor out until he makes it obvious in the cage he isn't the same

Jacare has taken down almost everyone he's tried to. Granted, not exactly a who's who of elite tdd guys, but nor do I think Vitor would be called elite in that category by anyone.

Overeem has been around awhile but he's not 39 like Vitor. We are talking 20 years in this game for Vitor, putting who knows what into his body.

Is he still dangerous for a few minutes? Hell yes. But I really do think he gets put on his back and dominated here.

anyone else like font at the current price? much larger fighter than lineker and won't try to brawl with him like rivera did.

I would definitely say Vitor can defend a takedown better than Camozzi, Herman, Carmont, and Marunde. In the past 5 years, besides Moose, those are really the only other guys hes been in wrestling/jiu jitsu mode against. And the asterick on the Gegard fight with the small cage is too big of one to pay the steep price being asked on Jacare.

Eh, Reem has been around a long ass time, prob juicing since Pride days, and hes been KOd more. I'd say they even themselves out on the cheating and fight age scales lol

Jacare winning is how I think this goes, I just really can't get behind the prices at all. Another thing that sticks out in my mind is that Jacare looked a lot less muscular himself vs Yoel

I think Carmont has better tdd than Vitor, I really do. Camozzi and Herman, meh, hard to say. Comparable I guess? Vitor a much better fighter obv but his blitzing offensive striking (as fun as it is to watch and as effective as it can be against guys who stand in there and throw with him) leaves him wide open to someone looking to take him down.

I for sure wouldn't pay the juice on Jacare's ML because no way do I think this thing sees the cards. If you are gonna bet just bet itd on him imo.

Keep in mind too that I hit all my Jacare bets at opens. I have Jacare sub at +155 and Jacare itd at -103. At current prices, yeah I kinda agree not a ton of value maybe.

Opening prices are definitely more bet worthy than the juiced up lines they are at now. Saturday is gonna be a very telling night for where Vitor is at, thats for sure. Love this fight

Didnt Jacare take Romero down?

I have £100 on Belfort r1 @ +700 but i have to add more @ +900 r1 KO. I think Jacare wins and will be playing him in some sort of parlay these are hedge bets more than anything but i will be pulling for Belfort in r1 as i will win more if he pulls a r1 KO out the bag.

Was wondering where the vitor love was ;)

I agree with the rest like his ko r1 line its his only way really, if jacare survives r1 he should take over but its hard to like Jacare he just seemed lost and not pushing the button against yoel. Vitor could find himself right back into the title picture and ufc would love to play that trt HL reel rockhold ko clip again.

Sergio is an 4 time jui jitsu world champ btw, was only 2 years ago he was subbing Neil magny, Chagas not sure about him but his level of competition past few years has been sub bellator calibar, guys with 1-1 and 22-20 records etc, sure ufc debut + short notice for chagas won't help.

Oh and love that r3 Corey play, I still recall corey taking some nasty heavy leg kicks from villante and just kept boxing and jabbing non stop, I think he could ko shogun still but at the same time he could just use his wrestling to get a safe boring corey approved decision here.

Not sure about the font discussion, few people mentioning he is the real deal coming in but quick glance at fonts last few guys sub par ufc calibar competition, roop being his best win lately and fight really and that guy could be 0-3 and exiting ufc next, linekers granite stubborn chin and swinging heavy fast punches will push anyone back for good.

Wtf?! @Agent Mulder was right, o1.5 is -225 for Trinaldo/Yancy. Could've swore that was the o2.5 price yesterday.

Thats a great line. Really, really hard seeing this last less than that.

The only thing I do know about his opponent is that his jits is the best part of his game. So that maybe why Sergio is such a big fave. Other than Maia there is probably no one on the ground better than Sergio at WW

Pretty sure they trained at alliance at the same time

When I did BJJ my goal was to go to Brazil and train at nova uniao and alliance. Def didn't happen lol

Last few Luan Chagas fights here:

Looks good but against sub par competition, 22 years old, nice striking with a fast pace, good foot work with kicks and a constant in your face pressure style, seemed to be over confident in grappling and his ground game though. Could be an interesting live dog if he is able to stuff moraes take down attempts but I do feel Sergio will eventually get that td and show a much higher level of ground game here.

There's obviously exceptions but I'm never really that confident in people training in Boston. There's not that many high level gyms around here. There's good BJJ schools but I'm not sure how far you can go training mma around here. When I was training I wanted to get to a certain level then move and train somewhere else. Didn't happen and obviously im not training with these guys but it's just my thoughts

Hopefully he wins though. I'll be rooting for the hometown fighter.. It's always rough seeing John Howard lose because he probably has to drive home afterwards lol

wish I got Cummins at -165! Little Nog seems waaaay past it. Only beat Rashad bc Rashad seemed to just not throw punches the entire fight and Brillz deserved the dec even going back to 2010. Little Nog hasnt looked good in about 7 yrs imo.

And I wish I bet more!
