Ubereem killing a sparring partner

Meh... It reeks of rumble being sour for not being the alpha in the gym anymore.

I dont like dutch sparring model. Not my kind of thing. But every dutch guy i have ever trained with, they never went hard in light sparring. And they made sure both knew when hard sparring was the plan.

I am sure Overreem follow the same way of doing it. We knows that overeem pay sparring partners to go full force. Like many top boxers have done for years.

Rumble is full of shit. Everybody else in blackzillians or other gyms, never claimed that Overreem goes hard when its not hard sparring.
I tend to agree.

We dont have that many others complaining about Overeem and he has been cross training in different gyms for awhile.

Like Frode said some guys are paid to come in and take it full on. Tyson had Oliver Mccall for that.

It works in wrestling because its wrestling.

Striking is different
I mean in Pro Wrestling (in the old days) they stretched you out, damn near try to cripple and make you want to quit. If you can go through that and come back, then you might be tough enough to do that shit.

But in old boxing gyms sometimes too the trainers wouldnt want to train guys who came with other people. They wanted the savages that werent afraid to go into the unknown by themselves.

MMA isnt really like that though usually.

Ive heard stuff about Extreme Couture back in the day,but dont know if its still like that.

You will find stupid gyms with stupid training methods. Yet they will make good fighters.

Why? Because its very much up to the fighter.

So if fighter A became good at fighting from a meathead gym, fighter A would have become just as good in a good gym with a solid training style.

Lions den vs tri star

Both work. Even if they are very very different

Yeah sometimes nothing will stop a guy from becoming great lol

For perspective Reem came up in 90's Dolman then Golden Glory sparring. They went hard in those old vids. Can't be compared to current sparring.

We talk about how much head trauma Overeem has taken in actual fights, but the scary thing is it probably pales in comparison to the damage he's taken in years of gym wars.

I dunno...i saw his partner try and kick him in the head and then land a hard body push kick...before reem put him down...

The way i see it and was taught you go as hard as your partner does...someone throwing hard body shots and aiming for my head with kicks...would likely get a similar treatment ....

Seems justified to me

I'm guessing a lot of fighters tend to end up at gyms that suit there natural ability as well, just anyone going to Chute Boxe is not going to end up like Wanderlei

Also watch rumble spar adesanya.

Israel was just touching him at will. Very light. But rumble was throwing donkey kong hooks.

He did the same against tyrone spong. But he just smiled like "thats cute"

Both Israel and spong handled it like bosses.

Indeed... Wanderlei was the perfect prototype for the style they train there.

Im just not a fan of Rumble. He's one of those giant hard hitters who fades to nothing when the opponent is still there. I tend to be bored with such fighters.

Classic strong bully strikers. Keep walk them down, and they die on the inside

Minoru Suzuki actually killed a rookie in the 90's because he was brutalizing him so hard. Glad they stopped this garbage.

Yeah the Japanese system was especially brutal.

Overeem is human garbage. Really wish we got to see Rumble shut his lights off. There was a great interview from Rumble about what a piece of shit Overeem is to everyone and how much Anthony hated him.

You know Ubereem would have pushed his shit in right

Reem is a douche and a bully. I respect all the times he's gotten in there to give us a good show, but I enjoyed watching him get stiffened dozens of times.

<{yearp}>

Everyone knows reem is a piece of shit training partner. Can’t believe anyone bothers to help the guy out after all these years.
