Who was the harder puncher between the two? Foreman was bigger, and could hurt you with arm punches, but Tyson was faster and had better punching technique.

Foreman hit harder. He was bigger and had way more leverage.

Now Tyson hit much faster. He would throw the punches that you didn't see coming, especially in his prime. Those are the ones that hurt you.

Problem is, even if you could see Foreman's punches coming, they would still destroy you.

I've heard from Freddie (who trained Wlad and an older Tyson who still knocked out Etienne) that Wlad's punches were very rough and that he was the hardest puncher he's trained, more than Tyson. So I say Foreman > Tyson in terms of "hitting harder".

tyson was a lot faster.

big george hit a lot harder

Foreman but the correct answer is Earnie Shavers

Speed /Accuracy/ Technique all equate to hitting as hard as possible . All 3 were what Tyson had and Foreman did not. Direct punching k.o power is different from being heavy handed which obviously favored Foreman but mass x speed equals power .Tyson at 215 /220 had great velocity on his punches so hes going to hit harder than just Foremans arm punches that travel much slower . Foreman also struggled to k.o bigger guys even when weighing 250 plus . His k.o % is around 40% only when opponents are over 220 so thats important to note.

Foreman probably did hit harder than 90's Tyson .Foreman was naturally big and powerful at 250 /260 , Tyson weighed more but lost all the attributes to a better punch by then . The Holyfield comparison is often made but Tyson fought a bigger "ENHANCED version of Holyfield and as Holyfield stated ,Tyson didnt hit him as much as Foreman did ,he did rock Holyfield briefly early in rnd 1 or 2 with a upper cut. On the same note i could use Stewart who Foreman couldn't k.o where Tyson annihilated him in ONE round !

Ernie Shavers has a 50%k.o record with guys over 215 and failed to k.o anyone of significance known for a good chin,to claim Shavers hits harder than either is not only false its comical !

Remember the fight where Foreman fought that ex-NFL player and the ref wasn't stopping the fight.... and then Foreman was even pleading with the ref to waive it off?

LMAO how he sent the mouth peice flying out the ring^

That's the one I was gonna post. No man in history hit as hard as goerge. Could probably ko a horse if he snuck behind it.
What sneaking... he could walk right up and get the KO Mongo style... = )

You seem to be taking a scientific approach but maybe a little flawed logic? Tyson might have had more pop on his punches but he was shorter and lighter than Foreman. George may have punched wide but he was generating power all the way up from the floor. You don't punch craters into heavy bags with arm punches. Also, in regards to Shavers, it's just a question of power and not effectiveness. The most effective HW at delivering power punches would probably be Louis.
