Some of you guys never get tired of posting dumb shit. The EPA still functions and Biden's administration is in charge of it.

Still functions how?

It got effectively shut down under Trump, and then the circuit courts and SCOTUS started reducing the scope of its power immediately after Biden took office.

The EPA will have limited authority to even go after Tyson because the Roberts court handed down a ruling last year that restricted its authority under the Clean Water Act.

Conservative ideology is hilarious. Preach deregulation for decades in spite of the historical documentation of what big business was like before the regulatory state was created. But when the chickens come home to roost, it's the fault of everything else but what you actually advocated for. I'm surprised nobody has blamed this clusterfuck on DEI yet.

One of the biggest cases that pertained to the EPA was brought by the interests of Clarence Thomas's sugar daddy lol

You don't understand the EPA needs unlimited power. We also need to pay way more taxes because only the government is pure, flawless and can fix things. Without a carbon tax the planet is doomed.

Think about it like laws, if they would just pass more laws on murders and guns there would be no murders using guns. Evil republicans!

Again, this is just playing dumb about the effects of conservative policies.

You love to claim that strict gun control laws don't work in bigger cities, but ignore the fact that most of the guns used in urban crimes are purchased legally in more conservative areas that have laxer gun laws and don't track straw purchasers.

There's also the law was passed under GW Bush and a Republican Congress in 2005 that exempts gun dealers from civil liability from crimes committed with weapons they sell, which incentivizes them to sell as much as possible to straw purchasers without fear of repercussions.

An entire ideology based around deliberately undermining government regulations and then claiming that they don't work, while simultaneously talking about "law and order" and demanding respect for state authority. It's schizophrenic and stupid.

*Don’t you mean a supporter of opportunities for POC? One outside of the stereotypical roles associated with limiting people on the basis of their race.

The epa currently has a budget of $12 billion and a third of that is dedicated to water. But don't let facts interrupt your "conservatives are cancer" circle jerk.

They were either purchased legally or they were straw purchases. You can't have it both ways.

The Tyson chicken owner must not give a fuck considering he just hired John Calipari at Arkansas lol

I still don't understand how the Sacklers avoided prison.
Drunk and Horny Rudy was one of the Sacklers lawyers. He used his pull to keep the Sacklers out of jail, which allowed them to transfer their wealth to protect it. That was back when Rudy was a decent lawyer, who did not fart COVID on his co counsels.
I am just as guilty as most of Americans and focus on shit like dogs getting shot in gravel pits, to see this country is slowly moving to becoming an Oligarchy, because the media keeps us distracted from the real issue, which is the massive amount of bribes, errr I mean campaign contributions that keep the power in the hands of the few, who never have to pay the price for their wrongs.
Until we take money out of politics, this country is fucked.

tHe EpA hAs $12 BiLliOn!

In literally every single budget proposal Republicans want massive cuts to the EPA. And compared to the financial resources of the corporations they must regulate, $12b is a drop in the bucket, and now with their time-honored "shut down the Government over budget proposal" strategy, these cuts have continuously whittled away at the EPA's ability to do its job, Congress adds more responsibilities knowing it has a smaller staff, the SCOTUS determines they lack the ability to make or enforce regulations, all at the behest of "conservative" political ideology...put forth by people funded either directly by billionaires, or via Super PACs.

Then Project 2025 proposes an altogether dismantling of the Administrative State, which you can bet your @ss the EPA is a top target.

The Republican party is a genuine threat to humanity.

These are the kind of issues that really piss me off.

Do any of your sources explain the OP would have been avoided if the EPA was given more money?

Throughout US History these sorts of industry magnates have always figured out how to get their way. And because of our idea of capitalism, no one takes issue with a small number of men pursuing endless growth of profit via pushing monopolization of entire economic sectors that arguably should be decomodified. MPU just put out a video about water and how the private sector is convincing local municipalities to sell their water:

Last year they put out this one:

These are the people and entities who not only push to corner markets, but then also donate to right wing idealogs for the same 2 reasons every wealthy d*ckhead does. Tax breaks, and loosening of regulations.

I've said before that my wife is a public safety regulator. Her degree is in environmental biology, which makes her a good candidate for the EPA. When we first got together she detailed just how bad their cuts were, and said she didnt gravitate to that because she didnt want to work for a toothless tiger agency. This was 13 years ago. But she initially pursued that degree because of environmentalism.

You're the one that vaguely hand-waved at a number as if it proves some kind of point. The EPA has had budget cut, resulting in staff shrinkage, regulatory ability rolled back, and responsibilities added despite both of those things, clearly meant to bog down their ability to check corporate practices.

It's no coincidence the Clean Water Act has essentially been gutted:

My post was a response to someone claiming the EPA is no longer functional. So you have no source that shows the Tyson incident could have been avoided if they had a larger budget?

No, but people here vote for a party that wants to get rid of environmental and consumer protections, ie, regulations, because of meaningless wedge issues.

What do you expect when the only two candidates are geriatric retards who shit their own pants and don't even remember what day of the week it is?

It's pretty much one of those, or don't vote. If you're choosing to vote for either of these 2 candidates you deserve to have your country destroyed.
