Tyron Woodley, or Leon Edwards, who had a better reign?

Wonderboy was trash? The guy who finished Whittaker and Hendricks and beat prime Rory? I'll grant that Woodley's win and draw vs. him were uninspiring and the draw could've gone either way. But he wasn't an easy guy to fight. I'd take prime Wonderboy over Edwards unless Leon could find a way to keep much of the fight on the ground. Woodley's threat of TD & heavy hands (both more dangerous than Leon's) is the only reason Wonderboy was tentative (as was Woodley when they fought)

I don’t think WB is trash but…

To be fair Whittaker at WW was kind of meh
Also Rory already had his soul taken by Lawler, don’t think he was in his prime when he fought WB. And Hendricks was also on a major decline.

WB’s best resume fight is his draw with Woodley.

Just title defences woodley, plus the title winning fight it’s close but lean leon, all career definitely leon

I don't buy the "Rory completely lost his soul" argument. He was only 27. He went on to beat Daley and Lima in Bellator in his next 2 fights after WB beat him. Lawler started in decline, and Wonderboy and others piled on. But it wasn't a one-time event.

Whittaker is better at MW, but no one had KO/TKO'd him before Wonderboy, and no one KO'd him again (including Yoel in 10 rounds of fighting) until Izzy 5 did years later. That was a major feat. You could apply the same kind of logic to Edwards' wins. Colby was washed and had long layoff. Usman was clearly shot with terrible knees because he's now on a 3-loss streak, etc.

No, Wonderboy wasn't trash but his fights with Woodley were trash & since they were apart of Woddley's defenses the title reign was trash.

Woodley had 4 (I think should be 3)

Wonderboy-draw
Wonderboy-majority
Maia- decision
Tilll- submission

Edwards had 2 title defenses

Usman- decision
Covington- decision

Although just two defenses for Edwards, I think Covington and Usman are much better names.

None of Woodley’s opponents were sustained contenders, I think Usman/Covington beats Maia, Thompson and Till rather easily.

Not to mention that Woodley barely beat Wonderboy.
Usman 2x.. Leon

Leon's defense against a washed Colby stands out in particular as a blatantly unearned title shot. Had Belal gotten his shot instead of getting passed over Leon would only have a single defense against the same guy he just beat. Woodley's title reign was better. Wonderboy was in his prime. Till was in his prime. Maia was old but on a lengthy win streak.

TWood

Woodley's was far more annoying to me because it took place back when I watched entire cards live. I haven't seen Leon vs Usman 3 or Colby and only saw the head kick in Usman 2.

Tyron much more multi-faceted career
Fighter, rapper, actor, co-host

Lol Woodley haters have to be some of the biggest weirdo losers in this sport

The way people talk about him here you'd think he was a notorious rapist or child abuser

Let it go

With that said, slight edge to Woodley

Everyone was saying Wonderboy and Maia would embarrass. outclass. and effortlessly destroy Woodley just for him to beat both, Wonderboy twice after he was robbed the first fight

His dismantling of Till was one of the most notorious hype train derailings of all time, it was a flawless performance from start to finish

Leon KOd Usman after losing 4 rds and beat an old inactive Colby who he matched up with very well especially after just coming off a heavy wrestling camp preparing for Usman who is better than Colby everywhere

But I wont argue with Leon being overall the better fighter

Woodley getting starched by an influencer destroys his entire legacy.
