I posted a round kick on reddit thrown at an intentional at a 45 degree angle, and some guy wrote that the kick is lacking because it was not in the center. He didnt know 45 degree angle kicks existed.

So if an opponent isnt right in front of him, he apparently cant throw a roundhouse kick
