Two steps verification on Sherdog WTF??

So the email account I used to set up my account doesn’t exist anymore. It was my work email at a law firm I haven’t worked at since 2017. I have no idea how I’m going to be able to set this up.

You should file an Appeal with sherdog and ask them to take a look at your case De Novo..

First forum I've ever seen do this. I dunno if I'm posting either after this just because I don't want to support this on other forums or spreading.

I'll stop posting about bball and just lurk and then maybe reddit can start taking this places traffic.

It was a good run boys.

Didn't know it was monthly. Dude people fcking hate doing this once a YEAR. Good luck getting a bunch of 40 year olds to do it once a month.

You're not a premium product. You're a karate forum guys...
I assume a the mods go nuts once in a while but is there a place this free that does not have a megacorp that can change it's mid anytime?

I mean, it isn't enough to make me leave. Once you set it up you stay signed in for 30 days at a time, I think. Still annoying as all hell. Might cut down on bot posts, though

I browse on my phone and computer. We are talking about 24 email validations a year to post on karate forums.

My entire 2FA load for an entire year is like 5 instances of 2FA.

You're looking at like a 500% increase for all to use one site. I will absolutely be lurking instead of posting. I took about 2 years off before making a new account.

Most non reddit forums are dying guys. You self important mods should be happy you have a kingdom to look over right now. You're about to absolutely kill traffic and start the decline.

Once the lurkers start seeing less content they'll leave also. This is like legacy media trying to up the cost of news paper suscriptions in 2010.

Impressive numbers there, salesman. Members who post thousands of messages per/month/year consisting of tens of thousands of characters can't enter 6 more characters to log onto the site? ....

Confusing. Idk if you were accusing me of being a self important mod, the way it was written seems that way, but I'm not a mod and declined that offer over 10 years ago now. I'd never mod for this place, I'm not here to work, and idc about the blue room.

The rest, I understand.

You can just go into your account settings and change your email. A guy earlier in this thread did that and said it was ridiculously easy

I got a banner saying that I need to turn on two factor authentication to use the Sherdog forum.

Does anyone know if the user database was hacked or stolen, leading to 2FA being turned on? I can't find any notices or pinned messages about this, but if it happened, then users should be notified because many people use the same login credentials in multiple places so if their password was hacked it is important to know so they can change it.

I think you underestimate how much people dislike doing this.

I browse and post on about 6 forums. If they did this for phone and computer that would become 24 x 6.

144 two factors a year to shit post. Nah, ill just watch from the side lines and lurk.

People love to hate stuff. People hate pedantic extra bureaucratic steps.

The same way this is generating discourse (24 pages of hate), the same way this thing will decrease traffic. Its simple guys.

I get that but there's no logic to the dislike. It's grounded in the unknown and paranoia which frankly does not belong in today's digital age. On the contrary it would be to their detriment not to adjust.

On a serious note, very well put. For individual cases this might not be too annoying, but the overall user base is gonna die out. Then we all go down together.
