I mean, to not get hacked, 2FA is a good way to do it. However, this is a forum account for a martial arts forum. Not much data to protect here, I’m guessing. I’m in IT, so I understand 2FA and MFA better than most. But to require it from a Sherdog user that's nearing 35–60 years old (I think most users are in this range here) is a bit of a steep ask, haha. My balanced advice would be:

Require it for mods, admins, and special ranks. Encourage it by providing rewards for those who do. And do not, under any circumstance, make it a requirement in this exact scenario. So, unless this is part of a larger operation, I implore you to take my mini-consultation to heart, lol. Or else this ship will sink.

Its not a big deal. I set mine up in 30 secs without any issues. It makes you wonder how many user's password is "password" for them to feel the need to implement this.

No, the link takes you to a page which has password reset on it. Just ignore it and click on 2FA somewhere on the page and proceed to set it up.

Yeah, after the server switch at the end of 2015, they used to have the bot numbers among the "posters online" numbers. I think they removed it, people kept bringing it up and accussing posters of being bots lmao. They're definitely here

Those were most likely web crawlers indexing things so they would show up in search engines.

I could easily create a Selenium bot (browser automation) linked up to Generative AI API's. I do like to think this is one of the places not too bot heavy. Everywhere we go it's propaganda central.

I used to run with two of these three you mentioned on almost a minute by minute basis, for a couple of years. That's been a while ago now, but losing them here doesn't make this place better. All three of those guys are good guys, some of the best.
