Two Russia/Trump stories break tonight.

I'm not going to get on anyone's case for voting for Trump. I'm not going to get involved in taking sides, because honestly I think the majority of politicians are scumbags. I'm only going to take the side of reason.

Any voter, congressman, senator, government official, reporter, etc. Who is either deflecting questions or spinning the narrative ought to be very very careful. If they do end up finding anything on Trump, what do you think will happen for the next election? We will oust all conservatives from DC because they are exposing themselves as shills/people who lack the ability to reason.

I think you guys will continue to get shellacked as you've turned into total loons. You guys pretend wikileaks and 2016 never happened. You pretend that libs didnt become a national embarrassnent. You pretend the current Democratic party didn't get exposed as the most corrupt party in us history. You pretend the democratic nominee wasnt the most corrupt nominee in us history.

Therefore you guys will continue to lose because you have learned nothing.

So long as liberals keep name-calling and running around with vagina hats, conservatives will sweep the elections.

You guys? Huh? Didn't I say I was only taking the side of reason? Didn't I say the majority of politicians are scumbags? Where did you make the conclusion that I was a Democrat or on their side??

Who is the loon now??

Thanks again for proving my point. I'm not going to continue this discussion with you as it has become clear you don't have a firm grasp on reason.

I don't think anyone's pretending wikileaks 2016 didn't happen, if anything it's exactly the opposite.

The thing is it will keep going. Putin's goal is to drag this out as long as possible. Russia is falling apart economically speaking and he's worth over 85 billion. So he's got to drag down the USA the best he can so he can say to all his people "listen everyone has to deal with corruption at this level"

I said this weeks ago before flynn got caught. The russians will drag this out further and further until finally it's just trump left. And if trump doesn't play ball, they'll leak some more shit on him.

Lol I was right

Basically every couple of days for the next couple of months this will happen.

Yep, now they're admitting to bringing him (sneaking him, actually) into Trump Tower. For a "hello" I'm sure!

Pretty soon we might be "admitting" our wee little web of shell companies in Cyprus, and the extent of the Russian investments in Trump's companies. If we're really lucky, we'll get into all the Atlantic City mob money laundering.

they admitted to sneaking him in? somehow I doubt that

depending on who's in power, that's exactly what the populace and press have historically done.

This is an example of how irrational cynicism leads to bad thinking. If you already, inaccurately believe the worst of everyone, that doesn't make you sophisticated and immune to conmen, it makes you naive and an easy mark for someone pulling an affinity scam.

Does anyone know if Sessions and Flynn spoke to any other foreign contacts besides the Russian ones? It'd probably help his case if he met with other nations envoys or ambassadors as well.

Trump caught in another lie -

Interview July 31st 2016-

Directly contradicted by campaign adviser not involved in Administration now -
March 2nd 2017

According to CNN's Jim Acosta, however, Gordon said that at the RNC he and others "advocated for the GOP platform to include language against arming Ukrainians against pro-Russian rebels" because "this was in line with Trump's views, expressed at a March national security meeting at the unfinished Trump hotel" in Washington, DC.

"Gordon says Trump said at the meeting ... that he didn't want to go to 'World War Three' over Ukraine," Acosta said.
So Trump was personally involved, in fact personally making the call. Why did he deny it to Stephanopoulous in very late July?

And FWIW JD Gordon himself told a different story in January when questioned about his involvement -
In January, Gordon told Business Insider that he "never left" his "assigned side table" nor spoke publicly at the GOP national security subcommittee meeting, where the amendment — which originally called for "providing lethal defense weapons" to the Ukrainian army to fend off Russian-backed separatists — was read aloud, debated, and ultimately watered down to "providing appropriate assistance" to Ukraine.
So back in January he claims he never left his table not spoke at the GOP security meeting at the Convention but now says he personally advocated for the Ukraine platform change because it was views Trump personally expressed to him earlier in the year regarding the matter.

Although it has been proposed that "healthy cynicism may have given way to corrosive cynicism" as suggested by William J. Bennett, a form of social cynicism wherein citizens maintain high expectations of their peers and their institutions, if used as a tool for improvement and not allowed to result in withdrawal, can actually be a positive attribute of a modern society.

Yes! But that's not what we're talking about it, is it? I'm saying we should have high standards, and that we generally do. And that we shouldn't fall for the "everybody does it" defense that scoundrels and their enablers love.
