Do you really trust the cops though?

Lynching someone isn’t easy or quiet. There are injuries besides to the neck and there would be signs of a struggle. There may be evidence at the scene as well-such as a chair, note, etc that would lead a reasonable investigation towards suicide. It’s tough for families to accept.

Ya know...because people so commonly hang themselves from trees as a method of suicide

I was a case manager in healthcare for years. Off the top of my head I can think of 3 people that hung themselves from trees. 2 of them were in public spaces

I'm all right, it was back in 2019.. shit's was hard, but with time we eventually move on. I did freak out, quit my job and went traveling trough the brazilian coast lol. Way tougher for his mom though, her life is kind of over

Yeah I know a bloke who did exactly that a few years ago, wasn't considered suspicious at all.

Same story crops up every now and then, black person hangs themselves from a tree and a story that should otherwise not be given the time of day (media usually does not report suicide) suddenly is national news because apparently it’s a lynching that nobody ever witnessed.

I've taken care of a few hangings in the ER and ICU. 3 of the 4 were out in an area for public to find. One even used Christmas lights from a building down the street. The Christmas light guy ended up getting found before he fully passed, but had an anoxic brain injury and life support was removed.

I really don't blame the family for not believing it at face value. I mean... There's numerous ways to commit suicide that are ... Less painful... Than hanging.

In fact hanging is probably the absolute worst common way for suicide.

I'll spare you all the details, but most 'victims' don't have enough drop so it doesn't snap their necks. They slowly strangle over minutes.

Now imagine learning a member of your family did that.

Two kids hung themselves from trees within less than a mile of each other in my neighborhood. First one in a wooded area and the second one in a public park.

Family is requesting private autopsy and investigators. As well as security footage from campus which would settle and debate on the topic. Family finds it suspicious
