Media Two Great Examples of Why You Should be a Fan of Alex Pereira.

Unpopular opinion but Im not a big fan of ppl recording/broadcasting their good deeds. Do for it for the sake of it & not to gain social credit. Just my opinion

Still a fan Poaton though, cChama.

I mean I want to see the Ankalaev fight too they should def make it.

Khamzat on the other hands seems to have trouble fighting anyone so I dont put the blame on Poatan or maybe even the UFC on that one (altho i dont think its smart business to do this fight YET)

Aspinall is a HW.

So thats three guys, two of which are not in his weight class.

Meh.

Bruh. Those are the best options right now. ,

Dude has shown interest in fighting at HW multiple times. It's okay to see HWs as realistic options. I don't get this apprehension on here. I'm not saying he has to fight a HW. But it's an option he himself has shown interest in. But IMO, he'd be more interested if Gane would be champ or interim, than any other HW. It fits the pattern.

Bruh, the Khamzat call out was long ago, before Khamzat was this seemingly limited. But even now, I think they could make that happen if both fighters would be pushing for it and the UFC really tried to make it happen. They could easily make a random Middle East card for the retarded money any oil sheikh or prince would throw at it. Not to mention the views it would get.

Other than that, he could have fought Vettori, Brunson, Costa, Hermansson, Whittaker at various points while he was still at MW,

And at HW, because it's a realistic still, he could also fight Blaydes, Jones, Almeida, even Romanov lol.

I don't really care who, I just want to see him vs someone who will pose a real grappling threat. And also not at high altitude, just neutral, standard conditions. No fuckery. Just live up to the mixed part of mixed martial arts. I don't think that's asking for a lot.

Showing that you are a good person through your media does not mean that you are a good person

@HHJ even Anthony Smith would be interesting, especially with all the talk there has been between the two, and all the fans lol

Talking about, what happened to that BJJ challenge he issued? Smith agreed, right?

Dude is violent and doesn't talk much shit. Always a plus.

Also, Anthony" Lionheart" Smith should change his nickname to "Agent", IMO.

I hope he gets stiffened again. This "Chama" shit is annoying it's like teaching a toddler a funny word and they say it over and over again.

never forget

Bruh, dude is getting protected from grappling threats like no one has ever been. He is in his second title reign and still hasn't had a truly difficult stylistic match up in the UFC. And there have been plenty of opportunities and options.. I don't feel like going into a big ol' debate about that again with Poatards (I like the term for the nuthuggers of Alex, nothing personal against anyone) though.

What were some of the plenty of options? His divisions aren't exactly wrestle-heavy, especially at the top end where he is.

I thought Jan, a guy who can strike and wrestle, was a difficult match up.

Poatards is a good term. That needs to be a thing lol.

2 out of Pereira's last 3 opponents take him down, wrestle him and still end up losing

Sherdog: Bruh why is he getting protected from grappling threats?!?!?

Nah, surely the man who defeated WORLD BEATERS Johnny Walker and has a draw with Jan will be the one to wrestlefuck him. Or even better, he should have fought the guy who fights once every blue moon and arguably lost to a lightweight. Yep! That's the guy who should get a title shot out of nowhere because smesh.

Seriously, it's a sickness. I'm 100% sure these people begging for the Ank fight never watched one of his fights. The dude is not khabib, you dummy. He will literally stand and bang.

Right now? Obviously Ankalaev. Or at any previous moment he had since he went to LHW. Or Aspinall. Alex likes to tease a fight with Aspinall and tease a move to HW, but so far it's only talk and a whole lot of strikers he has fought, and most of the time enjoying a good size advantage.

Or Chimaev, called him out to fight at 205. Khamzat said yes. Nothing.

But people obviously will blame Khamzat for that fight not happening. And I think because of threads like these, (no offense @Substance Abuse , I don't think that it's your intention at all. I'm not blaming you. It's more the effect of many threads, not any single one) people start to make him more heroic and infallible, than what I believe to be true. Honestly, I think many people have a crush on the guy, to be completely honest. Which is completely fine with me, but if they can't be honest with themselves about it. They probably also can't really see how their feels are influencing their thinking
Dude is close to the epitome of manliness in many ways so I understand why people are drawn to him.

For me the sport is just always bigger, than any one fighter. And subverting the process of finding out who is truly the best fighter in the moment, or for legacy's sake, by shielding yourself or being shielded by others from the kind of obstacles others do have to face, is not a small issue.
You for real? You seriously think Kumzit should have fought Alex? When? What weight?

Alex has been taken down before and survived just fine. This "He NeEdS tO fIgHt a WreSSLer" shit is so fucking dumb

Dude is the CHAMP and shouldn't be worried about perceived 'stylistic matchups'. These guys need to EARN the chance to fight him. Unkle would be a good test but IMO he already got and blew his chance vs Jan (and if not for a corrupt commission would have an L against Walker), he needs to win one more

what an overall weird post

Poatan is honestly the most likable guy in the sport right now.

Subversive sense of humor but good spirited, hard working and consummate professional that shows up prepared. Seems to genuinely enjoy his fans and is grateful for his success.

He's the type of guy to murder KO someone as annoying as Sean Strickland then train with him. Just top level chill.

Absolutely will fight anyone. "Chama" isn't marketing this dude is 100% about it.

Considering his age I don't think we have many more years seeing Alex Pereira in the cage but fans are going to miss his presence when he retires. Poatan is a titan.

Read a bit further, bud. I went into the subject a little more after all, because I knew people would ask anyway.

Jan was half a decent match up, but it was also very much hindered by high altitude. And honestly, I think there would have been a good chance Jan would have won if he didn't gas out as early as he did. It was a split decision after all. But even though he has some grappling credetials, it's not exactly his prefered style or specialty. And earlier on in Alex' career that kind of opponent might have been enough, you'll see in my other posts. But at that stage of his career and it being the fight that got him yet another TS, an opponent who actually is known for at least always mixing it up or just having a wrestling/grappling heavy style is more fitting, than a guy who has some decent grappling skills but they are kind of rusty as they are hardly ever used, especially in a heavily offensive way as he was doing against Alex.

Lol, yeah, it's a great term. I didn't think of it though. Not sure who did. I think I heard MMAguru say it, but I don't know if he came up with it.

Couldn't have put it better myself. You've really got to jump through some hoops mentally to find a way to dislike this guy. He even said he'd love to train with Adesanya if they never fought again as he's such a good fighter. No pretense. No drama. Just genuinely himself.
