Twitter is actually banning people posting the ‘NPC’ meme for “dehumanizing speech"

PayPal bans Gab in wake of Pittsburgh mass shooting

Internet giants are continuing their crackdown on hate speech following the anti-Semitic mass shooting in Pittsburgh. PayPal has banned the social network Gab, a known haven for hate speech, after reports revealed that the shooter was a frequent poster and had signaled his intentions shortly before the attack. While PayPal didn't provide an immediate reason for the ban in its message to Gab, the payment platform told The Verge in a statement that it didn't accept a site that was "explicitly allowing the perpetuation of hate, violence or discriminatory intolerance."

I have never been on this Gab social media platform, and never read anything about it. So whether it condones 'hate' I have no idea.

A bit odd that people can livestream murders on Facebook and people just shrug but some gab user is a nutcase and they new to be shut down.

<Lmaoo>

I can watch bombs falling on syrian towns live and in color on YouTube. Isis can recruit you on Facebook and twitter. But "white supremacists" can get a whole platform taken down.

So what's the real agenda here? Someone isnt being honest with me.

Get this, he wrote “I’m going in”. 4 minutes before he entered the church. That’s why. It’s fucking ridiculous.

You clearly did not read my posts, cause I made it pretty dam clear that on a national or societal level racism needs power to be racism BUT on an individual level a person from a minority community or community without power can be racist against an individual from the dominant community.
Could you post some sourced examples of national or societal level racism that is occurring in any meaningful way today?

How could FB know a murder is going to be livestreamed. You are expecting them to see into the future and stop said livestream.

What an absolutely ridiculous comment. Are you one of those people who insists that racism stopped with the Civil Rights laws or that racism stopped when Obama was elected.
How about all these Beckys we have had. How about Donald Trump riding to the WH on birtherism. How about all the racial animus from the rightwing. How about institutional racism from the law enforcement and justice system. Just because there is no official on the books racist laws, does not mean racism is not a part of the system and society. 100 years from now, there will still be racism. It's not something that is just going to stop.

You made the claim, now back it up with something more concrete than whimpering.
Care to try again? Sourced examples of national or societal level racism that is occurring in any meaningful way today shouldn't be too hard to find, since you know, it's such a prevalent thing.
Go.

Racism and oppression are not synonyms.
They are when we are talking about national / societal level. In a nation the dominant group usually suppresses the conquered and or minority groups if the races are different.

Nope. This is the just the definirion you like as it helps to weaponize it against your political enemies.

This.
In the absence of any real meaningful examples, "dog whistle racism" and redefining the word to meet their twisted narrative is the best they can muster.

apparently a national level of racism somehow involves having a black guy(the oppressed class) as the president of the country for 8 years.
Apparently you are one of those rightwingers who likes to imply Obama's presidency proves there is no more racism. You act like Obama got dam near all the votes. You ignore the racist rhetoric that the rightwing engaged in during Obama 2008 campaign. You act like Birtherism never existed and that it was not the reason Trump became a political personality on the right.

Electing Obama doesn't prove the US moved passed racism, it only proves that things have gotten better over the years. Aside from the above mentioned issues, Obama was the public face of an establishment that is White. So no one was going into the voting booths thinking that the US was handing the keys to the government over to Blacks.

And you righties like to ignore historical and contemporary power disparity because it allows you to claim you are equal victims of racism, which is a strategy to defend White supremacy.

Birtherism exposed the racist sentiments present in a lot of rightwing Americans. It is what got Trump to the WH, cause before he latched on to it, he was a political nobody.

no, it doesn't. what dictionary says racism needs to have a power component?

by your logic a japanese man can be racist in japan, hop on a plane without ever changing his views, and not be racist when he lands in america even thought he thinks exactly the same the day before.
Lol @MicroBrew is a black nationalist who believes only the white man can be racist. What do you expect?

You'll have to do better than that...

BTW, it was Hillary's camp that started the birthplace thing.

So, find any examples yet?

no, i'm one of those people that think that if there is a system of racism setup that is designed to suppress the black man it's doing a pretty shitty job when a black man can become leader of the entire country that the system is setup in.

and why are you arguing whether or not america moved past racism? we are arguing if the word racism changes between a national level and an individual level. stop shifting the goal posts, cause i'm not falling for it. the definition of racism has nothing to do with whether or not it is national, society, or individual.
