Does anyone here have big hands and use Twins gloves, I have noticed their shorts sizes are definetly made for little people, I just don't want to order gloves and find they are for little hands.
I usually wear a xl-xxl in glvoes.
Thanks for any help in advance.

my hand it 9 inches arounf the knuckles and my twins fit just fine. if that helps you out im not to sure about hand sizes however

Hi There, the hand compartments do not differ significantly between the ounces. However a 16oz gloves compartment is noticeable when you compare it to a 8oz gloves. I would suggest you look at either a 16 or 18oz glove. A 18oz would have to be specially made, which I can help you with. There is also the extra wide Fairtex gloves that might be better for you.

Depends on the model number to be honest. I like Fairtex too. the BGV4 by Fairtex are pretty good. I am not aware of a similar glove manufactured by Twins. However King's range have a bit more room in the hand compartment in comparsion to Twins.

My hands are big, I prefer the Fairtex to Twins.

Yes, I agree. I had a pair of Twins and hated them because the pocket was so darn tight (and I have medium size hands)

Fairtex have a great pocket and also the CSI Muay Thai Training gloves are great.

I have sort of big hands and I use a pair of 14oz Twins gloves and my hands fit nicely with handwraps. However I have used a friends Fairtex 14oz gloves in training and they felt more spacious.

As for the shorts by twins being made for little people is actually true. They are thai sizes and most thais are quite small. I think their XL is like USA M. But somebody else can confirm this if they know for sure. Anyhow I would check the size chart when ordering shorts from Twins.

My hands are right at 10" around the knuckles with out wrapping them, I like a snug fit, but I need to be able to take them on and off during my training, so I have to be able to get them back on after a little sweat.
I wish I could try on some different kinds of gloves, but I don't get that opportunity.

I've had a think about these gloves for you. I think a King or Raja glove would suit you better. It should be noted that these two gloves are made at the same factory as Twins, so the quality is there. However their hand compartments and wrist support seems to be a little better than the traditional BGVL-3 (this is the most common glove Twins sell). My next question is will you be wearing wraps?

I just wanted to follow up on this one, because this the question I get asked the most and causes the most returns for us.

The design and color of a Muay Thai Boxing short is really down to personal preference. The real issue is sizing. Before I started supplying Thai Boxing shorts I was naivally under the misconception that all sizing is standardised across the board regardless to brand. However this is not true.

Sizing differs between the different brands, which is further complicated by Thai and European sizing. For Example, a Thai size XL is probably equilivant to a European L or M. A similar comparsion can be drew with respect to US and European sizing. Now we have got that out of the way lets have a look at how the sizing differs between brands. To illustrate this we will use Twins and Fairtex sizing.

Twins Sizing
XXXS - LENGTH: 10, WAIST: 20, WEIGHT: 23-26KG
XXS - LENGTH: 11, WAIST: 22, WEIGHT: 26-34KG
XS - LENGTH: 12, WAIST: 24, WEIGHT: 34-42KG
S - LENGTH: 13, WAIST: 26, WEIGHT: 42-49KG
M - LENGTH: 14, WAIST: 28, WEIGHT: 49-57KG
L - LENGTH: 15, WAIST: 30, WEIGHT: 57-65KG
XL - LENGTH: 16, WAIST: 32, WEIGHT: 65-72KG
3L* - LENGTH: 17, WAIST: 34, WEIGHT: 72-80KG
4L* - LENGTH: 18, WAIST: 36, WEIGHT: 80-88KG
5L* - LENGTH: 19, WAIST: 38, WEIGHT: 88-100KG
6L* - LENGTH: 20, WAIST: 40, WEIGHT: 100KG

Fairtex Sizing
Sizes Length* Waist Weight
Boy’s M** 14 inch 20 - 22 inch 50 - 70lbs
XS** 15 inch 23 - 25 inch 70 - 90lbs
S 16 inch 26 - 28 inch 90 - 112lbs
M 17 inch 29 - 31 inch 112lbs - 132lbs
L 18 inch 32 - 34 inch 132 - 165lbs
XL 19 inch 35 - 37 inch 165 - Heavy Weight
XXL **20 inch 38 - 40 inch Super Heavy Weight
*Length is from top of waistband to bottom of shorts

As you can see from the above tables a Twins XL (LENGTH: 16, WAIST: 32, WEIGHT: 65-72KG) compared to a Fairtex XL (19 inch 35 - 37 inch 165lbs - Heavy Weight) differs quite considerably. The reason for this is that Fairtex have actively targeted Europeans from when they first started back in 1958, whereas Twins started off in Thailand with Thai sizing and have over the last decade or so just started to sell to Europeans.

In summary when choosing your shorts please carefully look at sizing tables and don’t assume that all shorts are the same size regardless to brand as I previous did. If in doubt contact the supplier and clarify sizing with them. Any supplier that are worth their salt will be able to guide you precisely regarding sizing.

All our shorts are European sizing. However sometimes we will recommend the next size up for Twins and King shorts due to their cut. Again this is dependent on how you like to wear your shorts, loose or tight. In addition all Twins and King shorts are fully customisable. Any questions just let me know.

thanks for taking the time to post that fightstuff! ^^

it's good to have a reference when it comes to sizing.

Have you tried Fairtex Extra Wide BGV4? Which size?

I moved on from twins because my hands would almost go numb after a few hours training in them. Same with top kings.

IMO, fairtex bgv1 is where it's at for an all around Muay Thai glove.
