I always say it....if the quality is good, no one cares. When it sucks, it gets highlighted because they chose diversity over quality. There is a difference between organic diversity and forced agendas or "heavily influenced" by being LBG. Animation is tricky. The genre is flooded with Gay writers and directors. It has to have the style people like, characters, plots, etc. Without a focus on what makes people love them--the characters, it will suffer. Vox Machina was great. Plenty diverse, even gay stuff. No one gave a shit because it was GOOD.

Apologies for the late reply.

The issue with your argument that 'when woke is good no one cares its woke.' Is... what is woke?
Because X-Men has always been liberal, no question about that, regardless if it's good or bad.
'Woke' is the promotion of leftist/marxist propaganda within entertainment mediums.

The little woman Secret Service agent in Paradise has a good face.

I suspect the Wii story was bullshit.

I agree. I also think it ruins a lot of properties. I guess my point is that when the focus shifted from plot and character develop to DEI quality suffered. But when something is good, it's good. Last night my son made a comment that someone just did a report in his college class that there is no truth demographically in advertising anymore. Its all DEI. We sat there for 2 hours and saw more interracial couples and gay couples than I thought was possible. Not 1 straight white couple. Not one, even the animation and stop motion had interracial. Hollywood is too concerned with DEI in this era.

Watched the entire four episode run of The Breakthrough last night. It was an interesting premise but (and this might be a Swedish thing) it just lacked emotion.

There were so many moments crying out for an empassioned monolgoue and instead the characters would just kind of look at each other and shrug. We watched it with English dubbing so maybe the performances would play better in the original Swedish.

The ending could have been heartbreaking but again, the actors just didn't sell it. I'd give it like a 5/10.

Watched a few episodes of Netflix Night Agent and some of the dialogue is like same level as B movie titty movies. It's just missing the titties.

"What if Season 3" was pretty mid.
They've had plenty of time now to do something good with this and they keep dropping the ball, despite the plethora of good examples of Western animation around.

And why does it feel as if Thanos snapped away 95% of the males in MCU?
Most of the stories are female led and the males are generally playing the role of the bad guy or some minor side character.
Sick to death of their lovefest with Peggy Carter, it might as well just be renamed to the Peggy Carter Multiverse. Of all the things that MCU has done, that they keep going back to a character that is barely a footnote in the movies or comics is ridiculous.

I'm liking it, but not half as much as the first season...which was a gateway to me watching West Wing.

As much as I am a critic for S2 of Arcane I have to say it deserves all of these awards.

Watched more of Night Agent and I knew I saw the VP's daughter in something else as snotty daughter. Turns out it was Yellowjackets. I'll always think of her as snotty daughter until she ages out or until she does full frontal nudity.

The main character looked familiar too and turns out it was Big C on Showtime with Laura Linney. I'm guessing he was much younger and less beefy.

Watched The Are Murders over the last couple of nights. Pretty decent. Definitely better performances than The Breakthrough. Kind of given up on American shows so it's interesting to try some foreign stuff.

Because men are bad. Especially white men.

It was the same thing with Star Wars: Visions season 2. All the main protagonists were badass women LOL

Looks like a lot of white dudes are part of the writing and directing team.

This goes back to just shit writing and direction for the most part.
Looking at these stories...they chose shit like Hulk fighting mecha-trons, Howard the Duck, Shang Chi as a cowboy, and too many episodes on The Watcher and Peggy Carter.
Who asked for any of that shit?

They don't even do interesting shit from the MCU movies.
What if Hulk had beat Thanos in the fist fight in Infinity Wars? What if Captain America hadn't stopped Iron Man from Killing Bucky? What if T'Challa never got back his throne and Kilmonger remained the Black Panther? What if Loki and Thor took the throne from Odin and conquered the 7 realms together? etc.
Their overall choices are shit, even when they do include male characters.

I didn't mind the first series but we bailed on season 2. Absolute shite

I am about to start The Night Agent season 1 tomorrow.

I am on a spy show run.

Just finished season 1 of:
The Agency
Day of the Jackal
Black Doves

Enjoyed all of them. The Agency is the most well-written of the 3. Day of the Jackal the most unique and Black Doves blends in some good British humor.

What streaming service are the last two on?
