Have any of you watched Citadel on Amazon Prime? Thoughts?

First couple of episodes I really liked - now it’s starting to drag on and lose me. Stanley Tucci’s character annoys me.
It’s about a super-duper secret spy agency, with their James Bond-type super spy getting his memory erased. Stars Richard Madden (from the Netflix show The Medici) who I typically like.

But losing momentum each episode.
Despite some good action sequences and high production values, there's just something that's off about Citadel. Didn't really like the first 3 episodes I watched.

I've just started the first series of Succession. It seems so boring and miserable. All the characters are cunts, nothing exciting has happened and I can't see myself ever investing in it.

For anyone who has seen it, does it get any better? What did you like or dislike about it (without spoilers)?
Also started watching Succession a few weeks back and I also said the same thing in the last page about all the characters being douchebags. But despite that, I kinda like the show and will continue watching it.

Thanks for the info. I have so many shows/movies to watch, so at least that's one show I will not be regretting skipping.

Did you like Preacher?

That wasn't for everyone but I really liked it. Way more interesting than this.

I liked Preacher but it did not reach its true potential. Would have been better if it was in HBO or something similar.

Finally getting around toi bingewatching Deadwood 20 years late because I have the flu.
Not bad.
Not as stellar as some say, but enjoyable overall.
I actually just watched it for the first time about 3 months ago. It’s not Edge of the seat show but it’s super immersive. I really enjoyed it even if the pacing was sometimes a bit slow.

Yeah, that's the show. Quality measured pace, great story.

Godfather of Harlem is a show with great potential, fantastic casting, but extremely subpar writing.
It often gets too preachy, and the characters do too much explaining of what's going on instead of just showing us. The relationships and actions of the characters are often just too unbelievable to make sense which hurts the show because it is based on real people. Worthy of a watch, but it could be a lot better than what it is.

Yeah great cast, all around, but the whole Malcolm x storyline throughout and the non stop black oppression stuff is fucking stupid. It's basically a woke mob show. Although the mobshow parts are great at times, so worth a watch. I just started skipping the Malcolm X parts and the parts with Bumpy's constant whining about racism.

Yeah, I liked a lot of the stuff surrounding the mob. I always enjoy watching Vincent D'onofrio, and then the Joe Columbo guy was cool too. I also thought that Season 1 in general was really good overall.

They just got really lazy with the Malcolm X stuff as the show went on because it was just the same old talk over and over again about racism. It's the time right before Civil Rights so it makes sense, but they just did it in a heavy handed and uninteresting way for the most part. They would do interesting things every now and then, like when they got into the mosque politics, or when he went to Mecca and met a white Muslim, and that made him question his own potential racism-----and then they did nothing else to really go deeper.

Australian television has some gems.

Just started watching Upright and the first episode was amazing. Will burn through the two seasons over the next few days and come back with more information but looks good. Milly Alcock (House of the Dragon) and Tim Minchin (Jesus from Californication) are great.

Season one was fantastic, definitely worth seeing.

Season two felt unnecessary, the important stories were resolved in the first. It was still good, but not nearly so.

Watched the series finale of Ted Lasso last night.

put in spoilers in case you haven't watched yet:

:
they should of showed them play their final match before the cliff hanger ending...which they seem to point at Ted telling Rebecca that he was quitting and moving back home to be with his son.
Even if they showed them losing their final match.

That looks pretty darn good. I’m in

Anyone watching Silo? It's basically a Fallout series in a giant shelter without the retro futurism and the fact no one (outside a few surely...) knows what happened in the past. 140 years ago, there was some sort of uprising, and all data/info regarding the past was either destroyed or confiscated. It's illegal to have any kind of tech (called relics) from that time period.

The outside world is uninhabitable and the rulers at the top have some dark secrets. The cast is great, as is the setting/world building. It's a bit of a slow burn, so we'll have to see if they can stick the landing, but so far it has my attention.
