I mean the conversations are still between individuals, they've got nothing to do with the organization and the only reason it's public is because of them being revealed deliberately to shame these people and fire them. Coworkers say lots of things to each other during work hours.

If they had "said" these things to each other, there would have been no problem. It arose because they shared their fantasies in a work environment provided by the employer, with their work equipment and software. Where these fantasies have no place.
How can you be so stupid and then expect that it won't come out? Or was it intentional to share such fantasies? Because you can talk about them so freely now?
Even here in Germany, where it is extremely difficult for employers to fire their employees, you would be fired immediately and rightly for doing so. That is inappropriate behavior. And damaging to your business and reputation.
