Oh no doubt, I’m not denying that. She definitely has more relevant experience. The law says she should have “extensive national security expertise,” andshould be “ an active-duty commissioned officer in the armed forces or have training or experience in military intelligence activities and requirements.” She doesn’t seem to be the latter, but I guess you could say she meets the former by way of those administrative roles she had.
But I’m not super thrilled with her work on shaping Obama’s drone killings policies, as I don’t agree with them and I think the drone killings of US citizens overseas is a major stain on Obama’s legacy, and I’m also not a real big fan of her overruling the CIA Inspedtor a general and not disciplining CIA personnel that hacked the computers of Senate staffers writing the torture reports. That’s a really, really bad look. So I am just generally not a fan of her.
