TUF 19 - Who Tried Out?

mats nilsson has been pretty active on twitter during the time the taping of he show took place, would be surprised if he made it into the house

Should have been WW, with Lima, Good and Cathal you'd atleast have a few legit WW prospects but with them fighting at MW probably will suck.

I guess having LHW is cool but I'd rather you pick div with talent, Flyweight would have been good cause it would have been a first.

I dont believe so, his last fight was at the beginning of september and filming didnt start until october

But the try outs had happened during the August 28th show in Indiana. You'd assume I guess that they'd pull him from the fight if he was selected.

Keep in mind this isn't the full cast but he says the majority of the ones listed are in the house

Lyman Good,
Tim Williams,
Ian Stephens,
Cathal Pendered,
Chris Fields,
Mats Nilsson,
Hector Urbina,
Dan Spohn,
Corey Anderson,
Dheigo Lima
Eddie Gordon,
Mike King,
Matt Van Buren,
Anton Berzin,
Josh Stansbury,
Elijah Garshnick and
Matt Masterson

Well, if that's the legit list, my interest just dipped bigtime! Looks like the rumours about Bosse and Ropati were just that, in that case, either that or both were shockingly eliminated in episode 1.

Oh well, I'll tune in for episode 1 to see the 16 nonstop fights to enter the house haha. That's not a very good lineup though really, IMO.

I think even I would've had a hard time getting up for a season of 170 and 185 again, especially with rumors that TUF Brazil will feature 185-ers and TUF Nations being 170 and 185. Even if they wind up with a bunch of bloated MWs masquerading as LHWs, it's at least someone different.

And I don't ever see them doing a 125 lb TUF. I think the concerns were already there but watching two 135 lbers struggle to make weight will spook them off 125 and 135 for good.

Good point...also, when people were clamouring for a TUF Flyweight season, the UFC only had about 6 flys on the roster. Now they've got Sampo, Benoit, Montague, Ortiz, Ozkilic...there isn't really much out there now, in terms of English-speaking legit flyweight contenders.

Another fine enough point. I do think a flyweight class could work but they'd need to pad out the taping schedule a bit. I think if you add 2-3 weeks to filming, maybe guys can make weight a little easier for 125.

There were a lot of rumor here in Quebec that Bosse would return to hockey but look like he won't and i found something really interresting:

"One of the important elements in its decision-making process is the presentation of an event UFC in Quebec, in April 2014. "I could have the opportunity to be part of the gala. This organization, this is the National League of extreme fighting. I wouldn't lose my chance because I hurt myself by beating me in hockey. At my age, it may be my last chance, I don't want to miss this

Oops I got confuse with TUF 19 and TUF Nations. Bosse is probably talking about the final of TUF Nation because according to the rumor it will be in Quebec city on April 5 and they probably need some big name because it's a new market.

If it's in Quebec City, then I'd expect it to be headlined by Rory MacDonald vs. ? given Rory's the biggest Canadian name available.

Then both TUF Nations finals on the main card. Couple of other Canadian fighters scattered across the card like Mitch Gagnon (who must be fucking praying for another Canada card given he can't fight anywhere else!), Steve Bosse's debut and a few TUF Nations fights (guys who lost during the show).
