TUF 19 - Who Tried Out?

Oh man, I wont press you for answers, this is just a statement....

I hope to fuck Anton Talamantes didn't make the house. That guy is not good at all, and if he was able to make it through the first fights, it could be bad news for the LHW bracket haha!

Ughh :(

Tim Williams would be an odd one, at MW.
He was on TUF 17 and lost his qualifying fight to Andrews. IIRC, they never cast guys who've already featured on a season of TUF before.

Myles Jury was on both TUF 13 and 15; but generally you are correct.

Garschnick has a fight scheduled on January 25 in Eastern Pennsylvania; so it seems he may be cast but didn't make the house.

Should do a Flyweight TUF, you can get good talent.

Will Campuzano, Sampo, Fun Size, Flick, Santella. They could put on a good season with top Flyweight prospects because its a div that hasnt been tapped into yet.

Would rather that than season after season of the same div.

The only two guys who seem like borderline definite selections based on the tweets of people there were Spohn and Pendred.

I will bet anything that the TUF Nations Canada casting essentially split the good MW prospects between 19 and that show.

Yeah, but Jury was selected to actually be in the house for TUF 13....then blew out his knee, so was given the chance to qualify for TUF 15. Which he did, Williams lost his qualifying fight on TUF 17 and to my knowledge, that usually means they don't cast the guys again.

IIRC, Williams impressed the coaches/White during his loss though, they said something like 'if someone gets injured, that guy's coming back'.

You probably wouldn't know the answer to this but was Williams an invitee or did he just show up at tryouts again and Joe Silva and company were like "well he's here, I guess!" and bring him back in.

If the latter were true, Anthony Lapsley would've been cast by now! :icon_lol:

Tim Williams is actually a good fighter

I was surprised he didn't qualify last time, he was one of the guys I was looking out for having read about him off the regional circuit and seen a couple fights.

So, a couple of names that we can scratch off the list posted earlier in the thread:

Andrew Sanchez (185lbs) - fought last night for RFA.
Francisco Trevino (185lbs) - just signed for the UFC as a lightweight.

As someone else mentioned, Elijah Garshnick has a scheduled fight coming up (it might have already happened), so if the fight went ahead, he's not involved either.

Dan Spohn ‏@dragonspohn 25 Nov
Been outa town for awhile on business..good to be back. Big things coming in the future...stay tuned.

So I'd assume this is as close to a confirmation that Spohn is UFC bound as any, right?

Pendred also just returned so I say it's a lock that he is also in the house.

if you want to find out who is on the cast, just follow these guys on twitter and see who they start tweeting/following etc.
