Who else would even be an option?

I don't even know if he's the best bantamweight prospect from Brazil.

True and it sickens me more people do not talk about him

To come out of Brazil in the last three years? The only other guy that might be better than him is Marlon Moraes but his first fight on US soil was 4 or 5 years ago.

I was thinking Moraes or Pedro Munhoz. Munhoz got a raw deal in the UFC by debuting against Assuncao on a week's notice and then suffered another split decision loss to Jimmie Rivera in a back-and-forth fight that no one saw but he's still one of the best prospects at 135.

Great fighter. could be true Brazil is a big country tho. I just saw this video and Im pumped for the fight.

mute the audio it makes it much better.

Yeah not sure we could count Moraes since his first fight out of Brazil was in April of 2011. But I would say he is a lot more well rounded than Almeida and if they ever fought, I would put my money on Moraes.

Munhoz is a tough dude too and I was really surprised that he lost to Rivera even though it was a SD. I wouldn't disagree with you though that he may end up with a better career in the UFC than Almeida but right now I don't think you could say that.

For me, I just can't get his fight vs Pickett out of my head. He was almost finished by him in that fight and he keeps getting matched with the guys that want to stand with him. It's the same thing vs Garbrandt. I want to see him against a stronger wrestler like an Aljo or Rivera type before I am 100% convinced on him.

Yes. Warlley Alves and Thiago Santos are also great prospects

Truth, but thats because there is hardly any new fighters actually out of Brazil these days

What this gif doesn't show is that up to this point he was getting tuned up by a shot Brad Picket.
Yeah he has a major tendency to get in wild brawls. Will cost him against the very top guys.
