It was going to happen anyway, the only surprising thing is it took this long. As I've been saying for years now, the stock market & economy have been in a giant bubble that's even worse than 2008, it was completely unsustainable and well overdue for collapse regardless of who the President is or what their policies are.

Alienating allies is definitely a problem, however, some of it was necessary if the US wants to rebuild its industrial base & economy. Could've been handled a lot better though. "Cosying up" with Russia was necessary, I don't care WTF you think about the country or the war, but it's absolutely necessary to have reasonable diplomatic relation with them so that differences & conflicts can be resolved without undue bloodshed. The war in the Ukraine is lost, throwing more money & arms into it in an attempt to "weaken & bleed out Russia" isn't going to work, at some point we need to acknowledge reality and end the senseless killing.

I still think Trump is a shitbag and the entire speech was basically 2 hours of trolling the libs. Pretty much everything other than energy policy and trying to bring industry back to America was just grandstanding and trolling. He failed to address the biggest problem which is healthcare costs, and if he doesn't do that in the next month or so nothing is going to matter since rapidly increasing cost of healthcare combined with rising interest costs on the debt is going to completely bankrupt the government. If that happens, you're well & truly fucked regardless of what the other policies are.
