He definitely wasn't fiscally conservative, wants to spend 1 trillion on US infrastructure, wants to increase the defense budget by 55 billion, doesn't want medicare/social security touched, and wants to do all of this while lowering taxes.

The interesting thing is that you just described what "fiscally conservative" (I find that term to be an abomination but that's a different topic entirely) policitians have done for the past few decades.

That's what I believe too.

I think if you put good kids with good parent in an inner city school, that school will turn into a good school.

They have to pay those inner city teachers more money cause some teachers don't want to deal with those kids.

Well that was surprisingly more presidential than expected. Granted, I still think he's a shitty speaker but at least he spoke like an adult.

Of course Rs will love it and Ds will hate it because of differences of opinion in policy and of course Trump lied a bunch of times but at least he was intelligible.

Yikes, just now watching the Democratic rebuttal from Steve Beshear. Pretty weak stuff. Clearly written before he watched the speech.

The rebuttals are always that way (they always happen following the State of the Union address). Since they have to start immediately following the President's address, it pretty much makes the rebuttal pointless. Calling it a rebuttal is actually a bit stupid, they might as well just call it "Now let's hear from the other guys."
