Ya Judge Cannon exposed the corruption in Federalist Society and Trump judges in a way I am sure they would have not wanted her to.
The Federalist Society has been pushing unqualified Judges at all levels for a long time, knowing that a person who knows they should have never got that job, will likely be more loyal and reliant on you in the future.
Judge Cannon was certainly the worst of those which means she was almost certain to be pushed up to the 11th Circuit or another Court of Appeals and then maybe a SC nomination in the future. All the while her realizing where her bread was buttered and feeling she owes some loyalty.
But she is so dumb and corrupt (the Marjorie Greene of the judiciary) that she spent her power on a case that had zero substance, was obviously going to get quickly over ruled, and that exposed her in a way she will have limited utility in the future.
And we cannot deny that we know she was a 'Mark' because just as Trump knew in advance if he got his SC Justice picks RvW would be overturned (he was given that assurance that the nominees had already acquiesced to that) , Trump also knew Judge Cannon was a plant for him as the other Judge exposed pointing out how Trump tried to do everything to get another of his cases adjudicated by her in the most convoluted of ways. Trump obviously has some list of judges willing to stretch and bend the law for him and the GOP. That much is clear.
Had Judge Cannon picked her battle a little better and only stretched the law, she could have continued maybe with a bit of scrutiny but a big passing grade from the Federalist Society, but instead she showed she is not smart enough to pick her battles and that sometimes what Trump expects you to do is wrong and corrupt you just need to say no, despite the loyalties.
