i like what policy communication has become in america:
- government says or does some weird shit (there's no recession!)
- immediately thousands of academia/expert types start publishing stuff about how said weird shit is completely true and actually great for the country ( read here how recession is actually good, guys!)
- following, the media quotes the academics/experts with the forced understanding that said shit is true since all those academics/experts say it (dude x from government affiliated think tank/academic etc says weird shit is true therefore it is!)

Anyway the 4d chess method for this is that Americans these days tend to vote against the candidate they don't want rather than for the candidate they do want. So the Dems do this to get momentum behind Trump for the primary to secure him the republican nomination and then people vote against him in the election again because he's the only candidate people seem to find more disagreeable than Biden. This stops the less disliked DeSantis from winning the primary and beating Biden who's more disliked than him.

This thread has been really fucking entertaining, super fascinating to see how this plays out. Its kinda wild how much trust the "left" has in intelligence agencies these days, though. I remember when that wasnt the case. Not saying their not acting in good faith here, but in general, why though?

Because its completely obvious to anyone with more than a couple of functioning brain cells that Trump and his ilk committed a litany of state and federal crimes which only through his abuse of officially office, he has managed to avoid prosecution for. Unfortunately the US has some more problems that won't be resolved be getting rid of Trump, namely the political setup allowing for minority rule, FPTP and 2 party system.

The other factor is the majority of the "conservatives" who are abjectly ignorant and proud, parochial and conspiracy minded.
