Law Trumps home raided

Fuck this thread is a gem. It’s a goldmine of chuds breaking down and I’m all here for it.

Is it known yet what’s it about? I just found out 30 minutes ago.

The funniest thing is this "the regime" stuff. They're trying to pose as leftist rebels but what they're mad about is that a billionaire politician isn't above the law.

The thing about this thread is multiple posters are posting other peoples opinions from twitter or “news” sources to validate their own opinion.
One thing I noticed is media tells you how to think.

Media/ nefarious conspiracy theorists

There is some truth to this. The panic in maga country is real.

They're not upset that's he's guilty, they're upset that he's suffering consequences for being guilty.

The absolute best case scenario in MAGA land is for Trump to be guilty and escape justice. That is what they really want, much more than Trump being innocent and being found innocent - that's boring.

No, countries fall apart when a bunch of mouth breathing cultist -while riled up by a bad loser toddler- try to overthrow a democratic election and start an insurrection at the capitol.

Trump literally has angry mobs chanting "lock her up" about his opponent, who had been investigated and cleared of wrongdoing by law enforcement. And now just investigating him and treating him better than a normal criminal is going to destroy the republic.

Yeah it’s very telling for their comprehension of terms like “the left”, “regimes”, “totalitarian”, etc. They really have no clue what they are talking about more often than not. It’s also another example of most of them just parroting fox news and other right wing talking points without having any knowledge themself.

I wonder what the exodus will be like when every maga insurrection puppet is going down and are locked up.

Not wrong. Whatever is going on, a little transparency would be nice for us peasants following along

How much more transparency do we need less than 24hrs from the event?

They told us everything except revealing the exact contacts of every document he stole. It seems to be mostly personal correspondence between him and others from Barrack Obama to Kim Jong-Un.

The national archive has been trying to get these documents from Trump since he left office (2 years) and he still hadn't returned them all.

What transparency is missing here? We know who issued the warrant, we know who signed the warrant, we know why the warrant exists.

Nah. As far as I've gone as to offer a bet on the outcome of this raid. The offer is open, take it up if you think it's panic wrestling...

I have no fucking idea where this is going to go. The details on this so far are a bit sparse.

It could be absolutely nothing for all I know, hence I haven’t predicted the outcome. Unlike you.

I’ve read many variations of that line over the last few hours and it’s not quite the own they think it is. I, for one, welcome this new utopia where everyone is held accountable to the law, thank you very much.

Conservatives: "If you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to be worried about!"
Also, Conservatives: "IF THEY CAN DO IT TO THE PRESIDENT, THEY CAN DO IT TO YOU!"

Also, am I understanding this argument wrong? Is a president supposed to be above the law? If they can raid the home of a former president when he steals classified documents, just imagine what they can do to you when you steal classified documents. They can also raid your home!

oh fuck did you edit the original tweet? that doesnt look like the one in the post i was trying to reply to

It seems like a very big deal on the context of the various investigations that have targeted Trump over the years. Some sort of press release or press conference putting the raid into perspective would be helpful, but like all things these days it’s probably more an issue of media consumers wanting immediate updates all the time rather than some unusual behavior by the feds

So are you just playing dumb, or is this genuine?

Because other people besides trump, are capable of destroying documents on his behalf.

What indication was there that the documents would be destroyed? By all accounts, Trump was cooperating with the National Archives.

Very dangerous precedent to allow federal agents to storm your house and rummage through your belongings because you think someone might destroy documents. Such conduct nullifies subpoenas if you can raid a home based on a hunch. Why even subpoena documents?

At some point, of course. Not necessarily the day after the raid.

If just to cool off the right wing twittersphere, a press conference with some details would be nice. Without, there's a lot of ammo for the grifters to speculate freely on how "targeted over nothing" this raid was.

Is that actually confirmed? I had thought the archive document stuff was speculation from talking heads based on prior events, and an assumption of that dispute being the driving force here. Not that for sure that's what it was.
