So lets say all worlds align and Trump can generate enough revenue to eliminate income tax.

How is it not better for the economy for the consumers to have more money to spend in our country?

I get what you're saying that people generally are irresponsible with extra money but if its extra money being spent, ins't that going to stimulate the overall economy of the US?

I was told the pain tariffs cause the lower classes is about enduring to bring manufacturing back to the US so they can ultimately gain better/more jobs and see more American goods on shelves.

If a new goal is generate enough revenue through these tariffs to replace income taxes and then sustain that system, that directly conflicts with the first goal. We are setting up a system we must buy buy buy overseas to fund our programs. How does that not fuck rebuilding a reliance on American made?

Add to that the fact the goods with the highest tariffs are the cheaper things from china the lower class spends a larger percentage of their income on then rich folks and all you can seemingly achieve in this system is replacing lower class income tax with a type of sales tax on their goods which would hurt them more while maintaining a reliance on foreign goods.

I’d have to look into but I’ve read that places with sales tax instead of income tax tends to harm the lower classes more.

Great post, and that's all very true. Sales tax is indeed a regressive tax (one that affects the lower classes much more than the upper classes) because the wealthier you are, the smaller and smaller the percentage of your wealth and income is spent on taxable goods, whereas those that are not wealthy spend a much higher percentage of their wealth and income on taxable goods (by necessity).

As I understand it, they don't want to film in Hollywood anymore for financial reasons.

A lot of shows and movies are filmed up in Toronto and Vancouver because of government subsidies.

Unless Trump is going to compensate them for moving production back to the US, they are going to take losses.

Also, this will penalize American productions that film on location out of the country for authenticity.

It just doesn't make much sense.
