Economy Trump's April 2nd Tariffs

If we're being honest, we would need to tariff most Chinese goods 500-1000% before most manufacturers would even consider reshoring to the US, as well as a few dozen other countries.

The talk now isn't about reshoring to America, but to reshoring to Vietnam, Thailand, India, Peru, Chile, Mexico, etc.
If they only had applied tariffs increase on China's production, Trump might had managed to induce huge crisis in China.

However in a lot of market segments U.S is importing more than 90% from goods they are selling in U.S for retail sales customers...

For example from China, Vietnam, Indonesia, Bangladesh, India etc...and doesn't produce enough cheap products in U.S.

In asia etc workforce is considerably cheaper, energy supplies cheaper cos lesser tax, especially important are expenses difference for industrial waste handling, transport, reprocessing and remainings disposal.....

● Ofc with proper marketing and high quality it is possible establish for example mobile phones brand and produce in U.S.

If quality will be better, a lot of customers might agree to pay for more expensive mobile phone.
Cos why is possible to sell expensive luxurous cars models????

However this mainstream mass market production customers aren't purchasing for long term usage?

For example if produced in U.S socks from cheap end ...will cost 3-7x more than stuff imported?

I don't think that customers will be happy.

No, you're reading comprehension is just terrible, as expected.

You dumb fucks overlooked the garbage economic shit he was spewing so you could get rid of brown people and trans people.

Keep doubling down your dumbass decisions. It's bound to end well for all of us 🤣
Yep its all about brown people. You nailed it. 🤡

Because of people like you rob. Morons suffering from dunning Kruger because they made a little scratch gambling with scam coins.

I'm enjoying your little meltdown lol

Yeah she was super unpopular but just saying she kind of turned that around by the time the election happened. I don’t think anyone would have beat Trump this last time though.
To me it never felt like she turned it around. All enthusiasm felt fake and generated by the media and activists. But I did give her 50/50 on winning.

The issue is, while some Americans would be able to and willing to afford the increased cost for domestic production, it's probably like less than 15% of the country.

Most Americans are already struggling to afford things year to year with just the natural rate of inflation. They won't just be unhappy with the price increases, they flat out will not be able to afford them while still living in a house and eating food.

The only way reshoring makes sense is in conjunction with mass implementation of robotics, which doesn't create many jobs or improve wages. In fact, it just does the opposite.

There has been “aggressive” selling of long term US government bonds in the last 48 hours.

Bonds are essentially IOUs issued by the government to raise funds for its operations and projects.

A government sells bonds to investors, who lend it money in return for regular interest payments and the eventual repayment of the full amount when the bond matures.

Investors selling off long term government bonds is not typical behaviour, as until now they have been considered the safest of “safe haven” assets.

The effective interest rates for 10 and 30 year US borrowing has spiked very fast, and came among weak demand for US debt at an auction yesterday.

This is a “firesale of US Treasuries”, according to one Bank of America analyst.

This could have direct consequences for the price of US mortgages and business lending.

The question is what scale this is happening on – is China selling off some of its $759bn US government bonds?

Is this the unwinding of heavily leveraged bets on the overall shape of the US bond market - what is known as the “basis trade”?

It is difficult to know what might be worse here. But trade wars of this once-in-a-century size do not stay contained to the flow of the goods. They spread into credit markets and currency wars too.

China withdrawing money from the US treasuries?

Shit could get very expensive in the US.

I agree that there may have been a perception that she was a bad candidate. I just think the idea that the Democrats have to run a perfect candidate or else people will vote for an even worse Republican is brain dead stupid.

Even if both candidates are bad, you vote for the least bad one. There is no justification for voting for the worst of the two.

You would think so, but Americans disproved this perspective. Trump has never been a better candidate. He's just been aided by foreign sources, and run on lies and disinformation. He's never had any real policy outside of Project 2025, which he denied once he was linked to it. This is the same guy who was ranting about cats and dogs being eaten by immigrants on national television. He runs around in orange makeup and a wig. He's almost a literal clown.

I'm an independent. The democrats could have had a primary but didn't because they obsessed with race and identity politics.
The Trump rats are scrambling for the seats on the life raft

The USA is run by nepo-babies who were given everything and racist incel trolls who be jobless and on 4chan if they were 20 years old right now.
