Economy Trump's April 2nd Tariffs

Over 3 weeks of the forum explains how Tarriffs work even some of the most dense posters eventually understood it by a couple weeks of everyday explaining.

The better question is why are you so slow ? Tarriffs aren’t an even playing field thing they are not paid by foreign countries that is another Trump lie , the consumer pays and it’s a getting into a market trading thing and has little to do with making a country money unless the federal reserve gets involved and it’s just more additional debt losing money and hurting the stock market .

(the tariffs Trump now proposes will apply to more than eight times more imports than his last round (about $3.1 trillion based on 2023 data), giving them a much bigger impact on prices while reducing opportunities for switching toward non-tariffed substitutes. Moreover, the US inflation rate did rise in 2018, leading the US Federal Reserve to raise interest rates. Careful product-level studies of the Trump tariffs—such as those here, here, and here—indicate that not only did the prices of tariffed goods rise, they rose by the full amount of the tariffs. In other words, American households and businesses bore the entire burden; none was shifted to foreign exporters. )

When you higher the tarriff prices you also get lesser demand on your exports, his ideas in a nutshell are terrible and he’s slashed if not cut import Biden policies for external growth anyway solely relying on old oil , wood and gas as the same old resource and thinks we can maintain a low cost living, all those things cost more to do them in our own country meanwhile the clown continues to make enemies, Vance was just barred from several Greenland places when his wife announced he’d be joining her ,that’s insane and shows how much these guys are liked .

Vance is a brave man bc he’s attached with Trump if he does visit there he’s going to be very limited to where he stays . Lol

We have lower Tarriffs because we have trade agreements with other countries, it’s not a competition , not sure how you don’t understand that .

These people just did a full circle and became economic leftists, im sure that if Trump decided tomorrow to establish a Socialist State in America these people would cheer.

Actually he calls them theories , that’s his actual reasoning for the Tarriffs ( In Theory They Should Work was his explanation even though anyone with any critical thinking knows they don’t ) there’s multiple posters trying to win argument on here using his ( In Theory) speech trying to sound intelligent . Lol
It's a theory like Evolution... 😃

I'm not a fan of his and I think he's a disaster. I just believe there is so much sheep out there willing to buy his bullshit for whatever reasons. Blindly just following the fool.
Probably a combo of him being great at manufacturing crisis and the appearance of absolute domination. He made people believe Canada is destroying us and he is going to put this evil empire in its place.

I don't think Trump supporters particularly care about outcomes when it comes down to it, they just like the showmanship. It's like going to a strip club, dropping serious money, and being content leaving without busting a nut. The edging is enough.

His approval ratings are down , any network outside Fox News or those rogue independent Trump channels on multiple social medias will clearly show that .

What those networks do is manipulate any negatives into positives, like when they reported his approval ratings jumped up but didn’t mention they jumped up from a very low number and was still below 50% approval ratings and acted like he’s winning everyone over when it’s the complete opposite in the real world .

Imagine if they actually reported the news as it actually was ? Trump wouldn’t have a prayer , Trump had a lower approval rating then Biden in his first two weeks ,that’s a fact .

Do you think it was mentioned on FOX news ? Americas favorite sit com for bending and twisting facts ? Nope instead they just reiterated how Biden left Trump with a mess and that’s why things are messy now despite also Trump had the economy go down twice now after Biden handed him a positive market . . Lol

These are mirror tariffs and allow for free trade should the other nation wish to drop all tariffs. You do understand that?
American companies that are not as competitive globally could face job losses as they struggle to compete with cheaper imports . United States has historically relied less on tariffs as a primary source of revenue compared to some other countries, many nations and developing countries rely on tariffs more than the United States to protect domestic industries and generate revenue it balances out trade globally .

Trump is basically and knowingly hurting us just to have people like you thinking he’s putting us first because your uneducated ( he loves you ) .

The United States don’t even need to invoke Tarriffs only in your head is it a game that needs to be a level playing field when it just creates trade wars that hurt us .

Do YOU understand that ? 🤡

Trump's tone of his Canada talks seem to be changing.

"Why the change in Trump’s tone?"

"Carney also surprised some Americans with his comments yesterday about the rupture in Canada-U.S. relations, getting lots of attention in Washington.

Washington-based Canada-U.S. trade consultant Eric Miller said it has begun to dawn on people here that there could be long-term damage to a close relationship, one that benefits the U.S.

“They [realize the] need to moderate their rhetoric and keep the relationship going in a historically positive direction,” Miller said."

Could this be the start of Trump administration realizing the FAFO phase of their Trash/Tariffs plans lol

I don't think so. It's just more of Trump's attempts to manipulate people leading up to the election here.

Trump teh great unifier. Got China, Japan, and S Korea to settle their generational differences to.... come together against him and America

BEIJING, March 31 (Reuters) - China, Japan and South Korea agreed to jointly respond to U.S. tariffs, a social media account affiliated with Chinese state broadcaster CCTV said on Monday.
The comments came after the three countries held their first economic dialogue in five years on Sunday, seeking to facilitate regional trade as the Asian export powers brace against U.S. President Donald Trump's tariffs.

Japan and South Korea are seeking to import semiconductor raw materials from China, and China is also interested in purchasing chip products from Japan and South Korea, the account, Yuyuan Tantian, said in a post on Weibo.

During Sunday's meeting, the countries' trade ministers agreed to "closely cooperate for comprehensive and high-level" talks on a South Korea-Japan-China free trade agreement deal to promote "regional and global trade", according to a statement released after the meeting.

Nah man, you don't get it. once all of our former allies have joined forces with our enemies, the 4d chess strat will become clear. Only when we are completely and totally alone on the world stage will the woke libs learn... something

Liberation day is upon us. Signing the EO shortly along with a presser with all the tariff info, if what I saw is correct.

Give markets and countries a couple days to react

Weird. I was told the tariffs were going to do the opposite of this and countries would break and run into our arms.

Interesting article about the tariffs from that liberal rag Fortune.

One thing they point out that is funny that has been happening here quite a bit is how companies will basically put already planned or already occurring investments in the context of the tariffs to make it look like they are working or to get in good graces of whoever. Kind of hilarious when people actually believe companies and countries make decisions about massive investments based on things that can change in less than 24 hours. That shit gets eaten up here.
