My read has been that he pauses tariffs any time a country becomes willing to negotiate. It seems to me that the main target for these tariffs is China, and Trump will be far more lenient with just about every other country. China is notrious for not playing by the rules that are agreed upon in deals.

So why does he have tariffs on Canada? They're a trading partner under the USMCA, and while the tariffs were announced and implemented Canada was pleading to talk and negotiate. But he still implemented them? What's the excuse for that?

The world won't trust America for decades to come.

That's what you lost out on the most in these last few months.

still a 10% tariff on the countries involves(execpt china), 90 day negotiation period. You should be happy.

The whole world already didn't trust us. The only thing that matters is green and everyone will pretend to be happy because the USA is a consumer powerhouse.

People had no issues trading with America.
This will limit the options now. Trade stability has been shattered. And I think that's a pretty big deal.

^^^ Agreed.

The rest of the world is quickly coming around and we are going to get better deals. We've been getting hosed for decades. The overall goal is to nail China to the floor. If we do, Russia folds too as China provides them $60 Billion a year for their Gas/Oil. Russia's economy can't take the hit very well if China falters... and the Yuan currency is taking a dive.

The Big $$$ players around the world are being told to pick a side... and the USA is far more attractive than China.
