Donald Trump said Sunday that in the wake of the mass shooting in Orlando, it's time for the United States to start looking at racial profiling as a preventative tactic.

"Well I think profiling is something that we're going to have to start thinking about as a country," the presumptive GOP nominee said in a phone interview with CBS' "Face the Nation. "Other countries do it, you look at Israel and you look at others, they do it and they do it successfully. And I hate the concept of profiling but we have to start using common sense and we have to use our heads." "It's not the worst thing to do," he added.

Doctors racially profile when they test black people for sickle cell more aggressively than other patients. Terrible racist doctors.
 
western governments already profile on the low. What Donald want is to make profiling a law and give the government the right to profile. Now thats dangerous

offcourse.....my arab mate always has to wait extra long time in airport and always gets picked for the random interview and it always start with this isnt personal. we pick random people and you came up. Its basically profiling people without screaming WE ARE PROFILING YOU. But this is the kind of talk right wingers always eat up like there's no tomorrow

Funny story: My buddy, Amine(you can guess his race), used to fly home to Morocco during college. They told him "you've been randomly selected", and he thought he won something and was happy. Then he went to the back and got essentially finger-fucked as his prize.

I went to see him and my other buddy, Ali, in Morocco, and their check on me was basically asking if I"m a terrorist. From there it was "no? well come on through then". I did get the business in Marseilles, cause I had a 1 way ticket to an Muslim country.______

Yeah my buddy always get asked what mosque he goes to, what does he think of the wars in Iraq and Syria and slowly go into Isis and if he can understand why they do what they doing. Its kinda impressive how they ask all sorts of question to build a clear picture of your views without asking are you a fucking terrorist. He became English teacher in saudi arabia and is making crazy money for a teacher and comes to uk every summer

Ha, it's always funny having arab buddies. I actually did used to go to their moque with them, my friend, that is. I think I maybe talked them out of it eventually, cause we got pulled over in Moroccco anf the cop said "one day, Allah will judge us all", and my friend Ali just laughed
 
Profiling works.

It might not be "fair" to the kinds of people you're looking for (Hispanics, for example, since most illegal immigrants in the US are hispanic), but there's no way around the fact that it *is* a force multiplier. It's playing the odds and saves a lot of wasted time and resources with the known side effect that sometimes, innocent people are going to get incorrectly come under suspicion for superficialities like the color of their skin.

Fortunately, suspicion is easy to dispel in the absence of guilt.

It sounds ugly, and sometimes it is. But the fact is it works, and could literally save lives.
 
How is profiling Muslims wrong? Is it wrong to profile Nazis? How about bikers? gang members? wall street?

Muslims aren't a race, you choose to be associated with a shitty ideology that is blowing stuff up don't be surprised when people take a second look at you for it.
 
I would rather not profile American citizens be they muslim or anything else. Profiling and scrutenizing the non-American citizens we let in this country? Have at it.
