Economy Trump vs. Musk

doesn't change the fact it's the finest truck in existence, and people will take photos/selfies of themselves with your car, good luck with your honda.
It's a white elephant , what's your resale at right about now ?

Musk is having a titty attack because he is not giving Tesla and Space X exclusive rights to the AI stuff in the new reconciliation bill. That's what this is about.

Musk bought Twitter and tanked Tesla stock all for him not to get the quid pro quo. Also, Trump wants to end EV subsidies.
probably, the guy gets what he wants, trump gets what he wants, and there's a conflict. Elon definitely not happy about subsidies, but there has to be parity, no subsidies for big oil..... and trump is still in that mindset of big oil.

I predicted the breakup. Didn’t predict it would be THIS messy or this early.
I figured it would get bad, in a few months they will make up but I think Elon is instigating it more because its good business to disconnect from politics and Trump.

To add Trump is toxic as hell it was a matter of time .

Maybe your right if your basing your guess on that, though I don’t find robotaxi to be all that inspiring myself. Optimus could be a big deal but it will have to be affordable and scalable which I imagine is a big hurdle right now

I don’t think they’re going to be selling a lot of cars in the future though and that cause for concern imo.
5 years is a long time. My thesis is built on those 3 things along with M2 drastically increasing.
My only concern with MC is that created shares through stock options and grants or espp while an effect of dilution it is not the same as say a split. For the sack of an interesting bet I agree to the 6B market cap. Honestly I win either way so why not.
its all in good fun anyway. Ill drop it in the bet thread tomorrow

who knows, gonna drive it into the ground, my other cars are 10 and 15+ years old, have no idea of their resale either.

Oil and gas subsidies allow us to export and make profit eventually, through trade deals of foreign countries relying on our energy rather than Russia and iran. The same is not true for cars partially, if not mostly manufactured overseas in China.

yeah, and then they take a photo of a garbage can, post the two images next to each other and ask: "Can anyone tell the difference between these two images?!"

elon is an electric guy, and there's huge merit going electric, even if we're not ready for it. We'll always need oil, but we probably should curtail in favor of localized solar. The total output of solar is at 2000Twh, and to put this into perspective, it now rivals Nuclear Energy........ and it's relatively inexpensive. You can have true independence via solar and battery power, I pay zero fuel because of solar...... imagine having a home, and big ol truck, and not having to pay energy costs...... that's my actual lifestyle. Oil should be used for strategic purposes, air travel, only when necessary, and not for the environment, but because it's relatively inefficient. Solar can be scaled a lot further than it is now, unfortunately, Chyna is leading the way, and having that independence would do a lot towards avoiding wars, affordable energy, and a limitless supply of energy that's not wrapped up in politics.

The Model 3 Performance is fast as fuck. It just doesn’t have the same feel when you’re on the freeway and you just want to smash it. That’s why you don’t see them in any roll racing videos. Off the line at a red light is where they are no joke

gonna avoid that performance stuff, the truck is plenty fast, and when I upgrade cars for the wife/girls, it's gonna be the slowest grandma worthy model Y I can get <lol>

from my understanding, the performance anything tesla is even faster than the truck...... and that does 12's quarter mile as it stands, plaids do 9's, which is beyond comprehension.
