I suspect we will see Russia take a more aggressive stance, though, since they know that unless they directly target US assets/troops, Trump won't do anything about it.

Only when a ceasefire has been signed and the troops etc can be deployed as peacekeepers. No one is talking about declaring war on Russia.

Keep in mind in 1994 US and russia signed an agreement to protect Ukraine at all cost if Ukraine demilitarized and got rid of their nukes (which they did).

This agreement had no expiration date as far as I'm aware.

So essentially USA stripped them naked for promised protection and now they are backtracking on a signed agreement.

Not only that ..Russia also signed the agreement and they are attacking them.
