International Trump: US control of Greenland is absolute nescessity

Not at all. In negotiation, concessions are traded. Trump is putting out something he doesn't want in the aim of getting the other side to make a concession. Trump then can make a concession by giving up something he didn't want anyway, and we can get a better outcome.
So he doesn’t want Greenland? And Greenland doesn’t want to sell to the US. So…. ?

Per capita GDP in Greenland is $37000. Alcoholism and abuse, including incest, run rampant through it's isolated communities. They rank 149th in life expectancy with a declining birth rate.

Maybe the status quo is not working so well for them.

We've already got a Mississippi, we don't need another one.

My favorite thing about when Trump says something so moronic and assine, is how the dumbest people on the forum like @cottagecheesefan try to man-splain it like it's 4d chess using straight plagiarized talking points from social media.

Its like the kid in the LD class lecturing the entire gifted advanced honors class on the benefits of eating paste and huffing paint.

This made me laugh so damn hard

- I dont like to break the gimmick of a fellow wrestler. But he is trolling the right. Dude breaks kayfabe quite frequently. Sometimes i think you guys know that, and only play with it!

Every climate scientist worth a damn is in agreement that we are experiencing a warning planet due to increased amounts of CO2 in the atmosphere

The ironic part is the only ones who disagree are funded by the fossil fuel industry.

The right are constantly harping on green energy scam but the fossil fuel industry is literally the biggest money making industry in the world.

You all don't get it. The only reason Greenland isn't messed with is because it's close to us and we protect it. Trump doesn't want it, he wants more out of Denmark. His comments are the first salvo in deals to be. Denmark in fact does need to step up.

Same thing with Panama. He doesn't want the canal, he wants the US to have fair use of it. Given China's involvement in administration of the Panama Canal, a national security threat has arisen. By saying we'll take it back if Panama doesn't get it's act together, he gives us something to back off of if Panama starts making decisions consistent with our investment in building it, as well as our national interests & need to traverse the canal.
Yeah, or he's jealous of Putin and wants some land grabs of his own to feel more manly.

It’s not irrational to make a very large offer to purchase the whole thing. We’ve spent 2 trillion on the F35. 100-200 billion for Greenland would be a great deal for all parties. We’ve tried twice in the past. It’s not unheard of.

If they don’t accept, we should try and buy as much land there as possible in conjunction with Denmark and Greenland.
Nah its dumb.

Fuck man what does he want the entire island for then?
Oil and mineral deposits that Greenland does not extract (it is currently banned) due to environmental consequences -especially to the marine environment and the fact that fishing is the most important industry in Greenland and the estimated chances that oil exploration and extraction would devastate it.

That will probably be one of the many posts in his government that he will forget to fill.
Nah.

Donors will remind him.

"Hey, I donated a million dollars to the campaign. Where's my ambassadorship?"

(This isn't unique to Trump)
