Elections Trump to concentrate migrants in guantanimo bay

My daughter is a Speech Pathologist. She works in NY with mostly migrant children at this point. None have been targeted, neither have their families. My buddy is a teacher in Bushwick Brooklyn. 90% of his students are non English speaking illegals. NONE have been targeted or deported. BUT, Tren De Aragua have been rounded up in NY as have Migrants that have been arrested. In NY Adams let the arrested illegals be taken. Chicago blocked ICE from the Prisons. That is the type of behavior that led to where we are now. Why protect criminals? So let me ask the libtards in here liking each other's dumb posts a question. Why do you want to protect illegal gang members sent here by countries trying to get rid of them? And why would you care where the fuck they are sent, as they have come here to do us harm? Gangs are terrorists.

This sums up you libtards like Andy. "Only a handful of buildings were taken over by gangs" lmao. This is why you lost.

Do any of you guys actually read the links you post?

The center, used traditionally to house Haitian and Cuban migrants intercepted at sea before they reach the United States, is dogged by its own long history of complaints about conditions and claims that it short-circuits migrants’ access to the asylum process. Nevertheless, the Biden administration considered using the base last year to process Haitian migrants.

It's still across an ocean
Well, technically, it's the future Gulf of America, but yes, a pretty large body of water.

I suppose if this administration is going to send people away off country until they're processed, this facility is as good as any. My main concern is that it being 'off' the continental USA and at a private military site, there is no real way for oversight or anyway to tell what their conditions are like, as opposed to being somewhere in the states and more accessible. I think this place should only be reserved for anyone who has committed crimes in the US (not including coming into the country illegally) i.e. gang members/murderers etc. I believe that would send a clear message to those sorts of people.

How is building a new facility across the ocean going to be cheaper?
I didnt say it was cheaper. The military can erect it pretty quick I imagine. It's close to Florida (90 miles). I think it's more practical to put it up in Texas with all the land though.

Just seems unnecessarily vindictive and costly, imo

And hypocritical since for over a decade Republicans have been crying about closing the place down.

Fair concerns. Don't disagree.

Don't think its vindictive. I would have to see the cost as the military is already there and readily brought over. Oversight is my main concern as @Cool Hand Luke pointed out. If they are criminals then they may stay for a bit. If it's temporary to get flights back to the country of origin then it's more reasonable.

I dont remember Republicans wanting to shut it down (the base?). No idea why. I thought Biden wanted it closed but don't recall.

Did you just start getting into politics with Trump?

This was a constant criticism of Obama during his term from the GOP. But then they wouldn't let him put terrorists in American prisons to actually close it.

Guess I just missed it. Politicians may have done what they did then but I dont know anyone on the right that wanted to close it. I remember that Obama promised it which is probably why they were pushing on him. But I never cared if they were housed either place. This won't be at the gitmo detention area but a new one run by ice. Will see.

Well yeah, he promised it and then they ragged on him for not keeping his promise, while they also blocked any efforts to close it.

He issued an EO in 2009, which of course they clutched pearls over. Now they don't have a thing to say about EOs, even blatantly illegal and unconstitutional ones.

Common sense should tell you it's going to cost more to hold people in a prison in Cuba. Everything needs to be put on a boat or plane to get from the mainland to Cuba. Food, toilet paper, blankets, etc.
And we all know the contract to get those goods to Cuba is going to be given to one of Trump's buddies, who will charge an exorbitant price.
