Opinion Trump threatens to retake control of Panama Canal

Trump is an absolute idiot. I guess if you read between the lines, that means I support him.
No, it's stuff like asking if we should cede control to China if people oppose a war of plunder, claiming we're being ripped off with no basis, claiming that giving it up is more insane than stealing it, mocking the idea that they could resist, mocking anti-war sentiment, etc. Be honest for once.

Don't forget evil Canadians like me. Trump said NAFTA was horrible. He replaced it with the USMCA. Trump is the best negotiator the world has ever seen. The deal is awesome. It's the best deal.

Fast-forward 4 years. Trump says the deal is terrible and blames Canada for taking advantage of the US.

Trump is rapidly losing his mind. Vance and Thiel must be so happy. I wonder when the 25th gets into play.
Vance would do a better job...but i think he is more radical than trump, i have a strange feeling about him.

No, that was true. You have been defending it. You even used your usual sleazy tactic when @Islam Imamate criticized it. "Should we cede influence to China?" Plus, "I mean, it's not like they'd fight back." Sick stuff from Mr. Christian.
Part of the faux-centrist playbook is to talk out of both sides of one's mouth. One line of argument for fellow travelers, another for the critics.
So then you can see why given the wider context it comes off as you defending the take? Otherwise in that exchange you would've been pushing back against the person arguing for the invasion and not me when I argue against it right?
I told you I was going to change in 2025, not 2024.
Idk what you're talking about here.

So Canada becoming 51st state, the need for the US to own greenland, adn now this ... should we be worried of an expansionist POTUS or is he just talking shit?
He adores Putin and sees him gobbling up Ukraine. He's plainly jealous. He would if he could; I feel there's no doubt about that, but he needs cooperation that he's unlikely to get, I expect. It's hilarious people were touting his anti-war bona fides as a reason to vote for him though, isn't it?

Edit: from the post above with the article about Bolton,
“These other big guys don’t have pesky independent legislatures and judiciaries and they do big guy things that Trump can’t do and he just wishes he could do. It’s a lot more fun if you don’t have the kinds of constraints that constitutional governments impose.”

I didn't read the article before I made this post but I might as well have and it would have saved me the trouble.

I said I would stop being a retard NEXT year. Not a centrist, independent.

You’re a moron. Enjoy your Christmas.

He's right though, those comments in the wider context of the thread make you come off like you're defending the take.
Yeah except saying that Panama isn’t Ukraine or Iraq isn’t defending an invasion. Ignoring nearly a dozen posts saying I oppose it is hackish.

I think he is way scarier than Trump (hope I'm wrong). He's clever. He and his master have a plan. Vance is a fucking Bond villain. His type usually dies at the 98 minute mark of the movie and you think the good guys won, then Thiel shows he's the real villain and you realize there's an hour left to the movie.

It's a good thing Vance, like Zuck, can't act like a normal human being.

For who did you vote in 2024 ? Kamala crew are the real creeps. i prefer the lesser one.
The lesser one is the one who said, "I can't help myself. I just kiss them, and they let you do it because you're a star....", is that right?

I'm not American but if I were I'd have voted for Kamala's favourite dildo before I'd cast a vote for the big orange one.

Again though you're ignoring the wider context of the discussion and how nitpicking the people arguing against the invasion comes off as a way to blunt the criticism of Trump's statement. In the context of the exchange where you interjected trying to imply I was okay with ceding influence to China why wasn't your first instinct to push back against the person endorsing the very idea you agree is bad?
He's not. He always makes the worst interpretation of comments made by people he dislikes.
He is though. Rob's not uncritically endorsing the idea but he's mentioned about how its not going to happen and thus not a big deal and how it might actually lead to a good outcome. He's also nitpicking those arguing against the idea as if we're being absurd by urging caution against wanton invasions in light of past failures. Yeah of course Panama is not Iraq which is not Ukraine but the hubris of assuming there will be no resistance has lead to many botched invasions and its perfectly fair to question that kind of thinking. That he takes more issue with that line of argument more than the people endorsing this cockamamie scheme is telling imo.
