Social Trump threatens Bruce Springsteen

either way, I believe Alexis goes down in history as the greater, more accomplished fighter, he was just a tad too old and a tad too slow and and small. Reverse the situation and Pryor wouldn't have finished the fight himself. A guy who suffered flash knockdowns all the time? I still really don't know how he took Alexis' big shots, probably the hardest he was ever hit even if it was by a guy who originally was a 126 pounder. Alexis starched bigger men like Rooney and afterwards, Billy costello, his power was still there. Pryor was so amped up maybe that's why, of course some people insist the bottle helped him but I don't think there's a drug in the world that'll help you take a punch.
They both dug into the body and that is so cool. Slow him down. WAP

fought their asses off in both fights, it still hurts to see Alexis like that though and I always suspected those losses broke something inside of him. He never again seemed the same to me, I never had a hard time believing he killed himself, he seemed troubled. Of course lots of people still think he was murdered for political reasons, which in a third world country, is possible.

Some people still think pryor was boosted. I don't personally think it made a difference, thought it was sour grapes from the fans who wanted Alexis to win but that talk will never die all because of that crooked corner man. Basically ruined Aaron's best moment.
Aaron dug with body shots. Like Frazier. Kept going forward.

Coke or not, Aaron is a HOF fighter. Here is another one. I like this cat.

You know Im gonna bring my boy right?

aaron was versatile enough to box, he said in legendary nights that "i knew I couldn't beat him like that" meaning he had to box. I just think he took shots he had the ability to avoid but just didn't out of attitude and aggressiveness, that might cost him if there were ever a way to have a mythical all time tournament. There would be guys who'd not let him off the hook and he didn't even have to take some of those shots.

You know, for a man who sells himself as a champion of restoring 1970's and 80's working class America, it sure seems like a bizarre choice to pick a fight with the single greatest musical icon of 70's and 80's working class America.

I'm not gonna pick my boys.

We grind, Mick.

If you consider his trainer's history and how he got the sudden burst of energy to punch non-stop like it was the first round it does seem suspicious. Then add the comment that he didn't want the regular water bottle, he wanted the one he "mixed", with the explanation being that it was water and mineral water mixed together is hard to believe.

It doesn't matter that it's Bruce, exactly, the West is just having it's war on art moment.

Again.

YAWN.

I do see the irony, though, but the political hacks are basically satire at this point.

I didn't know him other than meeting him a couple of times at the HOF induction ceremonies in Canastota. He was so gracious and friendly that it was a real shock for me when I heard he committed suicide. It could have been some kind of political hit but sometimes people hide their demons very well. Also if you consider all the punches he took in his career CTE could have played a role.

Nobody knows more about skincare than Donald Trump:

mother fucker actually wears orange makeup

a grown ass man wearing orange, makeup

nothing odd here

yes, i was alive and aware as a fan at the time, I know all a bout the "one that i mixed". There's no telling what he meant, Luis Resto probably had the best idea as he was panama's fighter, it sounded like it was a mix of some sort of breathing aid. At any rate, I still do not think any drug made his chin take those punches, Alexis just couldn't put him away that night. It's possible there was some sort of energy booster in the bottle. People forget but there was a similar controversy after Spinks pulled off his big upset with Ali only it became a non factor after Ali won the rematch.

To be honest, there is nothing new about all sorts of aids, be they smelling salts, or novocaine and I even wonder if Sugar Ray Robinson's "B12" shots before fights wasn't some sort of amphetamine. Nothing new at all, even alcohol was sometimes taken as in the case of Jake Lamotta in the St. Valentine's day massacre and that would most likely do nothing to improve his chances of winning.

These days, with EPO, steroids, there certainly does need to be enforcement, those do need to be watched. My opinion, they need to either be allowed or totally strictly tested for. A case can and should be made for any athlete who has his records questioned if he's caught using.

Again, aids for energy have been around forever and probably didn't even help most of the time. Sugar Ray Robinson ate sweets in the corner, the doctors would say that none of that would even reach his bloodstream in time to help him for the fight.

beautiful guy, sensitive and beloved. I certainly think CTE is a possible cause of his depression, he certainly isn't alone in recent years as far as athletes with damaged brains killing themselves.

I tend to believe it was suicide, just like I tend to believe Gatti killed himself. Both had publicly or privately fought with depression before they killed themselves. Arguello did indeed seem to hide his emotions, he was filmed in some political photo op just days before killing himself, smiling that same handsome smile. It's still heartbreaking.

I hate it when artists start lecturing about politics. I'm paying you to entertain me not to lecture me about politics. Having said that, I went to see Springsteen with my dad in 2006 (at the time he had that record out with traditional Irish songs and my dad is a fan of traditional Irish music) and he was great.

edit: This is the album:

Loved that album.

We'll never know, but if it was proven, the sudden burst of energy did get him the KO. He should get the benefit of the doubt but it's one of the most suspicious fights in boxing history.

Dillashaw is a guy that I think ruined his legacy cheating with EPO. Should we believe him it was the first time? It sure would explain his endurance in those tough fights.

I was watching "The Professor of Rock" on YT yesterday and he highlighted some songs that were popular but were really dark if you paid attention. "I'm on Fire" was one of them. Really creepy stalkerish shit. DMB's "Crash" was another one. It's about a peeping Tom, lol. I know your song was "Dancing in the Dark". That video had a young Courtney Cox dancing on stage.
Yup. I agree. But I can't help but love the line,
"Sometimes it's like someone took a knife, baby, edgy and dull, and cut a six inch valley through the middle of my soul."

Masterful composition, IMHO, though I admit I'm very far indeed from being an expert on such things.
