Reagan was being fed through a straw by the end of his second term. Nancy was very protective of him in interviews, and was always there to help. He had a competent administration that could help steer the ship. Trump has motherfuckers that would be doing well to work at Home Depot.
 
Let's put the partisan bullshit aside. Biden had lost multiple MPH off his fastball when he ran in 2020. By the time 2024 rolled around, he was only 1 small step up from a drooling old fool in a nursing home.

Now let's do Trump. Not as bad as 2024 Biden, but is starting to approach 2020 Biden levels of senility.

As the anti Biden crowd used to always say, go watch video of the guy 20 years ago. Trump is a completely different guy. The charm and intellect he once showed are almost completely gone. He rambles on and on about absolutely nothing at all. There is no doubt at all if he was a dem, GOP supporters would be calling out his age related gaffes.

Age limits really need to be legislated. It makes no sense at all to have these ancient artifacts running the country. 65 makes sense. Alot of folks start slowly losing the plot at that age.

There is no way you can, in good faith, tell me the guy falling asleep at the Vatican, constantly slurring and making up words, boasting about creating words that have been around centuries, constantly mixing up people names', spending 40 mins listening to music at a rally etc. - hasn't lost some of his mental acuity.

You can call me partisan or whatever, but I shit on Biden for being senile and my post history will confirm that. They aren't mutually exclusive positions. They can both be fuckin retarded.

The difference is that Biden wasn't a toxic vindictive asshole. The biggest fail of his is slow-walking investigations into Trump. He should have riled his dogs up with raw meat and let them loose. He tried to take the high ground. No more. If the DEMs take the House and Senate in 2026 I fully expect impeachment. Gloves off. No more going high when they go low. They don't play by the rules. Enjoy this fever dream MAGA. It won't last.

I don't know that anything Biden could have done would have mattered. If he went scorched earth, it would simply validate more of Trump's current actions. I also don't know that Dems will take the house + senate, and even if they do, I'm not sold that he gets removed from office. And even if all that happens, idk how easily he would leave. Finally, philosophically, I think an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind and furthering radical precedence is probably not the right answer.

I don't have a better answer, to be fair, so I get it. It feels kinda like a custody case where the mom can simply get away with a ridiculous amount of shit because the impact of ruling against her is so detrimental for the children.

I always love when you guys say a supposedly "competent administration" is a defence against a president because they can just do the work instead of the president.

Like you do realize the Constitution actuallys says in such a situation they're supposed to depose the president for the vice president right? They're not supposed to usurp the powers themselves and run a shadow government while propping up an ineffective president they no longer believe in. They're supposed to inform the nation the president can no longer serve and invoke the 25th to transfer powers to the vice president, the other elected official who's literally there for this purpose.

You guys give the game away that all you care about is power when you say it's totally fine to have a prop of a president nobody actually listens to.
