Law Trump sets up $500 Billion Dollar AI "Project" with Larry Elison

When are y'all gonna stop treating individuals who think for themselves, as members of groupthink, hivemind

That’s literally what Marx’s idealogy is though. There is no war but a class war as you put it….

Whatever it is, people need to start taking their heads out of their asses. Covid lockdowns was the tipping point to all this for me personally, before that I was all about the status quo unfortunately

When did y’all become Marxists?

I get what you’re saying but there is also the threat of it replacing the jobs for blue collar workers. Also, it can be used maliciously like Ellison insinuated with spying or deep fake porn which is already thing…

Like they say with great power comes great responsibility.
A lot of those jobs will be replaced whether America invests in AI or not. Because other countries will invest in AI and their products and services will be magnitudes cheaper and better than ours and we will simply be unable to compete in a global marketplace. Whether we are the ones that lead it and shape the future with it is the real question here.

I want AI that cleans my house and folds my laundry, so I can focus on things I'd rather do. I don't want AI to do things I'd rather do, so I have to clean my house and fold my laundry.

Both sides work tirelessly at digging in their heels and going to war while the "elites" have money on both horses to make sure they get thier Elysium society where the poors wont even think about stepping foot inside a steak house charging 300 bucks for a Filet mignon a la carte.

This is Class Warfare, plain and simple. Total division of society from top to bottom.

Rich v Poor
Men v Women
Black v White
Kids v Adults
Children v Parents
Gay v Straight
Musk v Soros
Chiefs v Redskins

The cries over oligarchy now are so hilarious when we were screaming about this slippery slope for years.

Yeah in general "that billionaire has my best interests at heart" isn't a thought that makes a lot of sense.

Probably not going to happen because everyone seems to be in cohoots to argue about climate change rather than the real issues which are going nuclear and sorting out the plastics and deforestation problem.

Agreed. To say you want AI, Blockchain, and EVs without a massive increase in BASELOAD electricity means you're just a dreamer. It's a nice dream, but not possible.

Yep, it's in the same bracket for me as people moaning about lowered test levels but not wanting to do anything about micro plastics which are probably a large reason for lowering test levels.

China just butt fu$k OpenAIl, XAi, GeminiAI with a 6 million dollar model vs 10's of billions of dollars. Instead of enforcing the idea that you need to spend 100's of billions they did it with pretty much old GPU hardware and just 3 million dollars to train their models all open source and free for people to improve their models. It wipes the floor vs OpenAI leading model. The fact they did this with cheap hardware and limited funding just cleans the floor by as Steve Jobs said think different. You will see AI stocks crashing big time and the value of their models have tanked. 500 billion what a robbery of the treasure, The models rip off they are full of sh$t in this story thinking that it was ChatGPT. You need to prove their models. Not mentioned they did it in 2 months not years.

Sorry double post

AI can do amazing things that humans can not; and potentially for a lot cheaper. It could fix the US healthcare system by reducing costs, getting better diagnostic tools, providing access to people in rural/low-income areas, etc. We don't even really know the limits of what AI can do for us. Those trying to prevent it are not only going to hurt us in the global scope, but also hurt us with the lack of innovation and solutions to our biggest problems.
Lol at AI being what fixes US Healthcare.

It has already been shown to perform better than real doctors in a lot of aspects, like some diagnostics, classifications and for generic health stuff. In 20 years with the way society and technology is progressing, it'll likely be better than a doctor in almost all aspects and cost pennies. How is that not a potential solution?

Hold your horses. If radiology hasn’t been outsourced by AI, the road is still a long way.

Because these don't address the structural failings of the US Healthcare system. Also why would this service cost pennies? Does the AI provider hate money or something?

It does though? Having low costs of medical procedures and unburdening general practitioners to go into more advanced fields that AI doesn't cover. And more competition would result in people fighting for customers, which would result in providers lowering their costs to attract customers.

You speak as if there isn’t a scarcity of physicians in the country.

The way some to these guys are talking (like the one in the OP) makes me uneasy. But we can't let countries like China dominate this sphere.

Your problem would make it worse given we have a shortage of GPs and family docs especially outside of coastal hubs. And your econ is just bad. I'm an AI diagnostic provider. Why would possiblely price my tools subscription at pennies per patient? That's insanely dumb.

Or to be an exact doctors reap what they sow since it's the AMA that lobbies for fewer residency slots.

Because I already explained to you how the economics work. To fight for new customers, new businesses (which run the AIs) will have to compete with other businesses in the same space. To compete they can either offer a better product or lower their costs. It's basic economics, did they not teach you that in economics class?
