So...... I think I'm done trying to have discussions with Trump supporters. You can't admit fault no matter what. Seriously. Personal attacks, deflection, denial, nothing done in good faith. Are you all really incapable of saying "You know, I actually don't agree with Trump on this one."? ANYTHING is fine as long as you keep owning the libs or whatever your motivations are.

The new America is, you don't have to pay taxes? Is that what's going on here? The fuq is Trump pardoning these bums for? Every president should have to explain their choosing to pardon people and there should be a cap on it over a period of time, unless it's something like the non violent people involved in the Capitol tour... 10 people max per quarter unless it's a group, maybe...

In this case I think it's mostly out of sympathy because Grimm became paralyzed in an accident, fairly recently.

Just a way to keep the guy's spirits up, I guess. Obviously the dude is not going to be a threat to society in that condition or anything.

well, after getting to know how trump operates after his first 4 years and now this second term, i think trump feels a comraderie with the malfeasants of society. i think he identifies with them personally and he sees them as "his people." i mean the dude has like 30 plus felonies to his own name, right? so, it makes sense.

i actually feel sorry for them. it's gotta be hard for people to admit when they screw the pooch so hard. a lot of it is just denial because they can't face up to their own selves.

This has been explained to you. The original thought of giving the President pardoning power was to guard against political retribution. Are you stupid or willfully ignorant? Biden pardoning his son and Fauci was to protect them from retribution. It was a good call seeing as Bondi would eat Trump's butthole if he asked.

No, the problem with whataboutism is that it only works if you are alright with defending both positions.

A normal fuckin person's perspective calling out hypocrisy would be "This is wrong - JUST LIKE WHEN BIDEN WAS WRONG".

Instead, it's often "Who cares? You weren't complaining when Biden did it", which gives tacit approval to shitty positions and demonstrates that it's not about the principle, but rather about defending the cult.

Edit - idk that either was specifically said, just saying that's the problem with whataboutism in this case. You would be forced to defend Biden's pardons as well
