Law Trump Officials Fire, Swiftly Rehire, Overseers of U.S. Nuclear Stockpile

This is so shit, @Rob Battisti.

Our domestic warhead "industry" is already incredibly narrow and minimalist. It could essentially be summed up by three national laboratories for R&D (LANL, LLNL, Sandia) and three facilities for assembly, components, and materials (Y-12, Pantex, KCNSC) under the umbrella of the NNSA. That's literally it. I feel like having so few locations and facilities makes it easier to prevent security leaks (it definitely does), but that comes with other risks. Pantex damn near burned to the ground earlier this year from an approaching wildfire burning near Amarillo, FFS.

😔

September 27th:
The federal government is undoubtedly bloated with far too much waste and plenty of fat to be trimmed, but I can only envision agencies that I place high value on having their budgets chopped despite most of them being underfunded as it is. I don't want cuts to DARPA, NASA, NNSA, NPS, USFS, or USGS. Anybody who does is working against the United States, its national security, and conservation of its natural resources. Simple As.

It's fucking dire, if true. Of all the US government entities in existence to go after with blind budget cuts and mass layoffs, the one that is singularly responsible for the design, development, manufacturing, servicing, and testing of America's thermonuclear warheads really is not it. Where is the Energy Secretary, and who ordered Teresa Robbins to carry these firings out? How the fuck could they not know what the NNSA is and what it does?
wait till they gut the national parks service..

So he corrected course instead of doubling down on what he perceived to be a mistake? Not seeing the issue here

So they noticed a mistake or unintended consequence of a broader sweep and swiftly corrected it.

Nothingburgers are still on the value menu

The maga mind set ladies and gentlemen. It’s only a problem until the country gets destroyed and you are under the thumb of foreign countries with nukes..

“At least he corrected his mistake that could have potentially destroyed us” jfc lol

I’m sure all these MAGA retards would feel great about being given a 24 hours firing notice. The trust in your employer would be high and you would stick to you job after that glorious fucking.

I wish they could think 1 inch down the road about these incompetent decisions.

All these employees that are safeguarding and running the most destructive weapons in the planet are now like “fuck this place, i have no job security since a tyrant and an unelected billionaire can fire me at will”. You can’t just post these type of jobs on Indeed and fill them.

How about sowing discontent in these people? Russia and China know who they are and will be hitting them hard now.

Just face it MAGA putzs. This is a huge fucking mistake, they are taking a completely reckless method of reductions, and it’s being run by unelected people.

Thank god he didn't let his ego get in the way this time.

Is anything really untouchable under this admin? Doesn't seem so.

It really is. There have been thousands of firings across over a dozen agencies since DOGE got started, and no others have yet had the Admin scrambling and asking them to come back in less than 24 hours.

The core mandate of the NPS and national park system is the preservation and protection of the natural resources, ecosystems, and wildlife therein to be left unimpaired for future generations. It will force the NPS to place severe restrictions on public access, and people will be livid. They'll have to walk it back, hire a bunch of rangers back, and it will be another embarrassment when all they had to do was not fuck with it in the first place. Or Trump will double down, force them to stay open, and America's greatest heritage will be rapidly degraded and destroyed. I don't that's the look he wants for 250.

It's cute that you actually think he gives a fuck about nature, his only concern would be how to monetize it for his own gain
