Law Trump just pardoned 1.5k rioters and Proud Boys.....

Like whom?

Jan. 6 defendants win unlikely Dem champions as they face harsh detainment

“Solitary confinement is a form of punishment that is cruel and psychologically damaging,” Sen. Elizabeth Warren said.

“Solitary confinement is a form of punishment that is cruel and psychologically damaging,” Warren said in an interview. “And we’re talking about people who haven’t been convicted of anything yet.”

The Massachusetts Democrat, a member of Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer’s leadership team, said that while some limited uses of solitary confinement are justified, she’s worried that law enforcement officials are deploying it to “punish” the Jan. 6 defendants or to “break them so that they will cooperate.”

Her sentiments are shared by Durbin, who also chairs the Senate Judiciary Committee and expressed surprise that all of the detained Jan. 6 defendants were being kept in so-called “restrictive housing.” While their defense of accused rioters’ rights as criminal defendants is unlikely to change the Justice Department’s handling of those cases, it’s a notable case of prominent progressives using their political clout to amplify their criminal justice reform calls even on behalf of Donald Trump supporters who besieged the entire legislative branch in January.

Democrats Elizabeth Warren and Dick Durbin said they were put in solitary confinement without trial.

I almost did add that in, and I think it’s a good point. Let’s keep our eye on this whole Proud Boys situation, now that Tarrio is out and already calling for retribution. I highly suspect Trump pardoned guys like him because Trump has a purpose for a loyal, private militia force. Let’s see how he uses the Proud Boys in the coming months.

Speaking of Proud Boys, the founder did this to prove that he wasn’t a homophobe.

Who’s gaslighting you? Lmk and I’ll set them straight.

The riots were bad. J6 was awful. People who break laws should be held responsible.
Proceeds to downplay one and accentuate the other

“Bad” lol

Napalming a dog in the 70s as an anti nuclear display is a pretty stupid thought.
They advertised they were going to do it according to the link provided.

And it was an anti Vietnam display.

You said, "They had people put in solitary confinement for years before they even got a trial."

The story is from April 2021. It doesn't say when they were detained nor for how long.

Edit: I agree an extended stay in solitary is typically overly harsh--but how long were they there? The article doesn't say anything about that, let alone claim they were there for years awaiting trial.

Andy you’ll never pull off anything even close to the level of Scott Tennerman must die. And you do know there’s a sequel to that right?
lol

Agree.
Some people should not have been pardoned. Also some people should not have been put in prison.

The media manipulated the event. We had some violence, those people deserve jail without pardons.

But my understanding is some goofballs were just way over the top Trump fans, dressed in silly outfits, walking around the capitol, these people didn't do anything.

The courts jailed everyone, Trump pardoned everyone, both wrong.
I can appreciate a lot of what you’re saying, especially acknowledging that violent offenders didn’t deserve the pardons they got.

I am going to stand firm in disagreeing that they were treated unfairly in general. Most of the people who did what you are describing either got no jail, or maybe some short jail sentence. They weren’t unfairly punished, this was a restricted federal area and a presidential election was being certified. To say that didn’t do anything isn’t accurate at all.

And where would these anti nuke hippies get their hands on nuclear materials?

Who knows? You make it the way the bombers make bombs? It’s a chemical burn even if it’s not the exact formula used in Nam?

It's worth it for a few criminals to walk free if it means hundreds of innocent people also walk free.

It’s been 4 years. This is in line with the sentence for assaulting an officer. First offender would be like two years from a quick google sentence. You’re being a drama queen

So hippies retroactively have the ability to create nuclear fusion? Damn. Critical thinking skills are lacking.
Napalm is not nuclear fusion it’s like gel mixed with an petrochemical.

They literally make a form of it in prison from Vaseline

I think the media greatly manipulated the event and innocent people got thrown in jail as political prisoners. Walking around in silly costumes is not a crime.

But also, there are going to be some people that deserve to stay in jail. They got out of line. Also some people from BLM should be put in jail for burning down buildings.

I think this is a balanced perspective and I am not being a drama queen. But I admit, I haven't studied the details of the event.
