Law Trump just pardoned 1.5k rioters and Proud Boys.....

it's a felony for a citizen to possess firearms or any type of weapon on the premises of any government building in DC without having the necessary licenses and credentials to do so.

DC has some strict gun laws and usually you're only supposed to keep the guns in your house, and they must be unloaded and secured seperately from your ammunition when transporting. you can't carry them open or concealed on government property. once you go west of the potomac and into virginia the laws are much more relaxed. but tasers, bear spray, firearms, or anything like that is generally prohibited from most areas in DC, and you're better off just leaving them at home.

it's up to the judges discretion as there is no mandatory minimum sentence but the first offense is a penalty of up to a $5000 fine and 5 years in prison unless you're a convicted felon possessing a gun and then you're up shits creek with all kinds of new charges and penalties. the sentence is doubled to up to $10,000 in fines and 10 years in prison if it's not your first offense. and doubled again if you were carrying on the grounds of a gun-free zone, which would include all government buildings.
5 years? So with good behavior they’d realistically be out in 4 but let’s just say they should have served the full 5 and pay the fine.

How many for how long? Any idea?
Do you actually think I’m going to post links in this thread again? Just to be told I’m flailing? If I’m wrong and there’s no Jan 6 people that were still not charged before they were pardoned/granted clemency or commuted before today prove me wrong Andy.

unless they went on a crime spree with the gun they probably aren't getting anywhere close to 5 years just for possessing a gun on government property.

Biden issued over 8000 pardons and quite a few of those were preemptive pardons. libs are upset over 1500 pardons for Jan 6’ers who have served over 4 years. Most have not even been officially charged and the Jan 6 committee deleted a lot of the evidence.

I don’t think some of you know the difference between a standard pardon and a preemptive pardon. A preemptive part has only been given one time in US history before Biden took office. It’s an admission of guilt, or essentially a get out of jail free card.

Biden has been out of his mind for quite a while.

But that was the maximum right?

Who else got a preemptive pardon?

Im going to start petitioning now and hopefully within the next 4 yrs I can get my own preemptive pardon issued.

yeah but unless you did some violent crimes or you're facing a hardass judge who wants to make an example out of you then you probably won't get anywhere near the maximum sentence just for carrying.

If Trump had anything to "go after them" that means they committed fucking crimes, no?...
NO.

Have you not seen what Republicans have done with "Investigations" going back to the Clintons, and then Obama and every administration since?

Years and years and years of non stop investigations, and as one fails they start another on the same thing. Jim Jordan was talking about doing another round of the same ones on Obama and Clinton just a few months back.

There is one commonality in ALL the various Republican investigations via Special Counsel and/or gov't committee and that is they never get a thing. NOTHING. ZERO, against any of the named targets based on what they were looking for..

Whereas the ones that look into Republicans and Trump see them convicted and/or jailed at astonishingly high rates.

Non stop investigations that go no where are the definition of weaponization of the govt. They are just fishing exercising hoping to find an old drug charge or some other thing they can instead prosecute.

Investigations that get the person for what they went looking for are the OPPOSITE of weaponization.

You're really okay with blanket, decades long pardons?

Only in the instances where an incoming administration has promised to investigate those individuals for revenge for investigating them or performing their jobs as they were supposed to. And none of you can deny that didn't happen, on countless occasions.

In fact, that very reason (retaliatory investigations), was the express reason our founders included the pardon power in the Constitution.

You know what reason the founding fathers didn't include as a reason for a pardon? Beating the shit out of cops and smearing your shit on the walls.

It's impossible to give a shit when any leftist on here complains about any pardon Trump gives. Seriously. Some of you geeks really need to take a look in the mirror.

You support the pardoning of literal traitors.

That's even lamer than all the times you've quit arguments.

When your pick to lead the F.B.I. has a "revenge list?"

Yeah, it's time to issue preemptive pardons.

Yeah, it's time to issue preemptive pardons.

It's pretty much a textbook example of the appropriate use of the pardon power.

Even the trumpers know this. They just can't think of any other way to deflect from the literal pardoning of traitors.
