What makes you think they aren't? Poland has given more than ten times the tanks we have. They've turned their country into an international logistics and repair hub for the entire world and Ukraine. European countries are hosting and expensing millions of refugees from our conflicts and this war. They've also footed the majority of the direct financial support to the Ukrainian government.

Every country that is seriously involved in this conflict is meeting or exceeding their gdp military spending goals for NATO membership.

Why should we not help our direct allies in a conflict against an enemy who in your own words "will not stop"?

It's not like I'm against Ukraine, but without infinite aid from their allies, what options do they have but to make a deal that they will likely come out on the short end of...or get annihilated in a war they can no longer fight? The E.U. has already said they're stepping up if the U.S. pulls back. They have to do this because they're up next on the menu for Russia. Here's the deal..

Russia as it stands now has no natural defensible borders. That's why the Wehrmacht just rolled to within eyesight of the spires of the Kremlin back in WWII. Russia needs to expand to the mountain ranges of Poland to gain a defensible border (like the Fulda gap back in the cold war). The E.U. knows that unless Russia is stopped now, it's only a matter of time before it's their turn in the barrel.

He was installed to do a job and he did it amazingly. I'm pretty sure Ukraine is better off with out him at this point.

You aren't answering the question though. Let's say Russia is still in a slog in Ukraine 2 years or 5 years from now? Why would they nuke Ukraine?

It's hard to see a scenario where Ukraine tangibly threatens Russia's territorial integrity.

Nuclear war would have been possible if NATO had actually entered the war as Ukraine wanted. Escalation upon escalation. At the very least, major cities would be flattened in a regular war even if nukes didn't fly. It wouldn't be limited to Ukrainian cities either. I stated that the extreme option is now off the table due to Trump's election. My point is that a peace deal has always been the only realistic and sane solution. Russia being in a "slog" is irrelevant. Ukraine has already lost, and would collapse in that 2-5 year timespan you mentioned.

For the USA to keep sending hundreds of billions of dollars and our own military equipment is insanity. It would also (and is already starting to be) be hugely unpopular with many European citizens to keep sending money and aid. It would only hasten the downfall of the remaining globalist leaders of western Europe, and thus end those countries' support for Ukraine, at least on the scale it currently is. It's a losing effort anyway you slice it.

So why keep the war going then? Sacrificing millions more for no reason? One million dead Ukrainians already. Imagine the number in the coming years.
