Crime Trump is reportedly thinking of reclassifying marijuana

"one of the least harmless drugs" - did you mean one of the least harmful drugs?

Never legalised here, but it was decriminalised decades ago.
Noone cares about pot in my state. To the degree that people will forget it's technically still illegal and ring the cops to complain about people stealing their crop.
Good catch , is that all over Australia?

No, the laws and their enforcement vary a lot state to state, and I think Victoria is actually less prohibitive now.
The difference between states was one of the reasons my state actually decreased personal use from 10 plants and banned using hydroponics. Bikie gangs were using the relaxed laws to grow weed without serious penalties and then export it interstate for more profit, with pills and powders coming back down the same pipeline and gang violence, turf wars etc to match.

I'm not a pothead but the idea that weed should be federally illegal is backwards. Alcohol is responsible for 1000 times the societal ills than marijuana but booze still remains culturally acceptable. I used to be against legalization, but my view has changed over the last 20 years. I'm not saying ban booze, but not have the federal legalization of weed is some outdated malarkey.

EDIT: Federal legalization is one of the most bipartisan policies. The dems fucked up when they didn't do it after 2020. It would have been Biden's historical moment. Instead of his sundowning.
I've always been pro decrim on weed but I think its sad that one would consider weed legalization a great achievement. Imagine the best thing you can say about a presidential admin is that he legalized weed. What a sad time. Society deserves better.

Fuck no

Ever since they legalized weed in Nevada, you can smell that shit everywhere

In the military I had friends lose hundreds of dollars betting marijuana would be legal across the board before 2010 under Obama.

Me personally I never done it or any illegal drug in my life. But I would like to see it legalized 100% asap. Too many people still getting arrested for it and thats ridiculous.

I agree 100% , which sort of changed my initial view . I don’t partake but I get it , although smelling it in resort hallways and everywhere on the street on my Vegas trips, gets old but then again people smoke cigs in casinos.
I do partake at times and I also think people shouldn't be assholes about doing it where it bothers other people.

Same way that my mom should be able to go to the movie theater without some asshole vaping in it

Fellas. You wanna know how big of a fuck up this was and Trump is desperate to divert attention away and score some much needed political points?

By the next month or so, Trump will announce his intention to reschedule cannabis and his base will welcome it. The dems obviously will love it.

That's how badly they fucked up the Epstein saga lol
Posted in July.

If Trump follows through and gets this done, credit where credit is due. Dems are all talk (looking at you Schumer and Booker).

Trump can go down in the history books for addressing the failure policy of the war on drugs and the prison industrial complex (Nixon and Reagan's real reasons for criminalizing cannabis), the scheduling corruption of the DEA, real crackdown on cartels and black markets, true progress in research allowance that schedule 1 prevents and schedule 3 would allow, tax revenues of legal cannabis, banking and credit infrastructure for legitimate companies and employees, and promoting more states rights.

Got no problem with it other than Cigarillo packages by thousands littered all over the place and every place smelling like dogshit now.

If anyone is concerned that making it legal will turn into everyone growing weed, it's had the opposite effect in California. Legalization has KILLED the profits for cannabis and way less people are growing it now as a way to make money. The prices for a pound have gone so far down that there is no profit. Only companies with big backing can produce for the legal market and be sustainable, while the black market has dwindled away to nothing. Also, don't get your hopes up about "tax the hell out of it" as that has been a losing model.

Fortunately, for people like me I just grow enough to satisfy my needs and any more than that is a burden. I got two nice little shrubs in the backyard right now. One Indica and one Sativa.

Opposite up here in Maine. There's weed growing everywhere. We grow it right out in the open up here. Its so common now that it barely even catches your eye anymore.

If your reasoning for wanting to keep cannabis schedule 1 is "I don't like the smell", fuck you.

Re(de)scheduling /=/ federal legalization.

Decriminalization /=/ federal legalization.

Don't be a Charlie Kirk. You may not like it, you may not partake in it, but it's here and it's here to stay.

Enforcing and ticketing no smoking in public laws like you already would cigarettes is much smarter and logical than trying to blanket ban cannabis, which is already used in many different ways (edibles, beverages).

What kind of grows, though? Few plants, or big hoop house operations?

Not a fan of weed at all but I find it stupid that it's criminalized when we have stuff like alcohol and tobacco out there. People should not be in prison for fucking weed.

Both. Most commercial grow ops are inside.

We have a big problem up here right now with Chinese nationals growing illegally.
